Hanalei Colony Resort C2 is a charming, intimate retreat on the far North Shore, perfect for a relaxed and romantic vacation! This cozy condo has two bedrooms, with the option to use one as a home office or children’s bedroom, a nicely stocked kitchen, and a comfortably furnished living and dining area with incredible ocean views from the oversized windows. The shaded private lanai looks directly at the water, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Pacific. Please note that the bedrooms are separated from the main living space via sliding shoji screens; while the screens offer visual privacy, they are by no means soundproof.
The amenities at Hanalei Colony Resort make this the perfect spot for a slow-paced and laidback vacation. Walk just a few steps and you’re right on a warm, sandy beach away from any crowds! Or, spend a day by the pool and hot tub, lounging in the sun and grilling in the outdoor kitchen. If you need to truly unwind and pamper yourself, the Hanalei Day Spa is just across the parking lot and offers some incredible services (can you say beachside couple’s massage?). You’ll also find the Gaia Restaurant on site for some tasty seaside bites, as well as the Na Pali Art Gallery & Coffee Shop where you can peruse some beautiful art while enjoying a morning brew. Additionally, there is an on site coin-operated laundry room, so be sure to bring some quarters! (the front office can usually make change if you don’t have any quarters)
For those of us that like to get out and about, Hanalei Colony Resort C2 is still conveniently close to many main attractions. Take a quick 15 minute drive and you’re in the heart of Hanalei town, with all its charming boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Grab a bite to eat or a shave ice before heading to the iconic beaches of Hanalei Bay for the day. Tunnels Beach, perfect for snorkeling, is only 3 minutes away driving, or 20 minutes on foot if you prefer to walk it. Ha’ena Beach is just another 3 minutes down the road, and is an absolute hidden gem with crystal clear waters and some of the best sunsets in the world. You’re also just 10 minutes away from the Limahuli Garden & Preserve, which offers an introduction into native Hawaiian culture and its ties to the natural landscape against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and the Pacific Ocean. For any basic grocery needs, as well as delicious sandwiches, acai bowls, coffee, and shave ice, head 3 minutes down the road to the Wainiha Country Market. You’ll also find a lovely selection of local goodies you won’t be able to resist.
Please note that Hanalei Colony Resort was built in simpler times in a more remote location. The resort was designed with the untouched, natural environment as the main draw, and does not offer all the luxuries of modern resorts. There is no dishwasher and no TV in the unit (although there is very fast Wi-Fi), and it takes longer to access other parts of the island. Drive time to Princeville and Kilauea is roughly 30 minutes, to the East Side (where the airport is) is 70 minutes, and to the South Shore is over 90 minutes. We highly recommend renting a car, as third party guests are unfortunately NOT able to use the resort shuttle services. We do, however, encourage guests to take advantage of the North Shore Shuttle, which services locations such as the Wainiha Country Market, Limahuli Gardens, and Ha’ena State Park. The shuttle will pick you up right in the parking lot of Hanalei Colony Resort (super convenient!), and advance reservations are required.
As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned, however there are ceiling fans in each space and additional tower fans to help with air flow.
Although this is a ground floor unit, you will need to be able to go up 4 stairs to access the front door.
Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.
Note: host requires all guests, whether they book directly or via a third party website, to complete a rental agreement within 3 days of booking.

About the area
Hanalei, nestled on the north shore of Kauai, Hawaii, is a picturesque town that offers a serene escape into nature's embrace. It is a place where lush green mountains meet the sparkling blue Pacific Ocean, creating a landscape that is as enchanting as it is tranquil.
The town's crown jewel is Hanalei Bay, a crescent-shaped beach that is often cited as one of the most beautiful in Hawaii. The bay's long stretch of soft sand and gentle waves make it an ideal spot for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Surfers flock here for the consistent breaks, while beachgoers revel in the laid-back atmosphere and stunning sunsets.
Beyond the beach, Hanalei is surrounded by verdant taro fields, a staple of traditional Hawaiian agriculture. The Hanalei Valley Lookout offers panoramic views of these fields, set against the backdrop of the majestic Namolokama mountain. This vista is a testament to the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty that define Kauai.
For hikers, the nearby trails provide access to some of Kauai's most breathtaking scenery. The Kalalau Trail, starting at Ke'e Beach, takes adventurers along the rugged Na Pali Coast, offering dramatic ocean views and the chance to explore secluded beaches and cascading waterfalls.
The town itself exudes a charming, small-town vibe, with its historic Waioli Huiia Church and a collection of boutiques, art galleries, and eateries. Visitors can indulge in local flavors at the Hanalei Farmers Market or enjoy a meal at a beachfront restaurant, savoring fresh seafood and island specialties.
Cultural experiences abound, from learning about the history of the area at the Hanalei Community Center to taking part in a traditional luau. The spirit of aloha is alive and well in Hanalei, where the community welcomes visitors with warmth and genuine hospitality.
For those seeking a tranquil retreat, Hanalei offers a variety of accommodations, from cozy bed and breakfasts to luxurious beachfront rentals. Each provides a peaceful haven from which to experience the natural splendor and relaxed pace of life in this Hawaiian paradise.
In essence, Hanalei is a destination that captivates the heart with its natural wonders, cultural richness, and the serene beauty of its landscapes. It's a place where time slows down, allowing travelers to fully immerse themselves in the joy of island living.
