Welcome to Timberstone Lodge, located near Flathead Lake! This 3-bedroom, 3.5 bath custom home is perfect for your Montana Experience! Sitting on a little over 5 acres and nestled high above Somers Bay in a very private forested lot, this home has spectacular views overlooking Flathead Lake & the majestic Swan Mountain range beyond. Every detail of this home is meticulously designed to complement its setting, from the warmth of the heart pine wood floors & heavy barn timbers to the rustic feel of the locally crafted logs in the Primary Bedroom suite.
As you enter the home, you are greeted with the open living/ dining/ kitchen floor plan that opens onto an expansive porch with stunning views of the valley below. The living room has a large two-story stone fireplace complete with a rare 300-year-old salvaged timber mantle recently pulled from Flathead Lake. The fully equipped eat-in kitchen has a large island & custom wood/glass cabinets. The dining room table has seating for six people. Open shelving & custom iron hardware provide both beauty & function to the space.
The main level also hosts the primary bedroom with a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, and private access to the balcony. There is also a mudroom and laundry room off of the kitchen.
The second-floor loft bedroom has its own private bathroom and features a reclaimed cypress wood ceiling and hand-forged iron hardware. A loft door can open to the living room and allows enjoyment of the stone fireplace below.
The walkout basement is accessed from the first floor and offers another bedroom suite with its own private bathroom and a covered private entry with a hammock. The main room offers plenty of recreational or sleeping/bunk opportunities in addition to having several large storage rooms. A wood-burning stove completes the cozy feel of this room.
In the winter, the Flathead Valley is famous for its world-class skiing and wide range of winter activities. There are two ski resorts in the area, including the local favorite Whitefish Mountain Resort and the family-friendly Blacktail Mountain Ski Area. Whitefish Mountain Resort was recently ranked #3 in the West by Ski Magazine readers! Visitors to the area can also enjoy ice fishing on Flathead Lake, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in Glacier National Park, and snowmobiling with one of the local outfitters.
In the summer, enjoy all the water sports imaginable at Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48! Glacier National Park is also close by with the breathtaking Going-To-The-Sun Road, Lake McDonald, and 70+ day hikes! Make sure you take time to experience downtown Bigfork, boasting shops, galleries, restaurants, and the Bigfork Summer Playhouse.
