Villa Katajala is a modern lakefront house just over an hour from Helsinki. Surrounded by forest and set only 20 metres from the water’s edge, this spacious villa features floor-to-ceiling windows, a glass conservatory, and two lawns for outdoor games. A wood-fired hot tub, sauna with lake views, and a fire pit offer plenty of ways to relax. With a sandy beach, paddle boards, a rowing boat, and fast WiFi, Katajala suits both quiet vacations and time together with family or friends.
Villa Katajala combines modern Scandinavian design with a peaceful lakeside setting, creating a space that feels both fresh and welcoming. The villa’s layout centres around an open-plan living area where floor-to-ceiling windows look onto the garden and the water beyond.
The lounge is arranged with comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove, and a large Smart TV stocked with streaming services. A dining table for ten sits nearby, making it easy to gather for meals or board games.
The kitchen is fully equipped for home cooking, with an induction stove, dishwasher, coffee machine, and all the essentials. In summer, the glass conservatory becomes the natural heart of the property. Its walls open completely to connect the lakefront lawn with the sheltered courtyard, where you’ll find a gas BBQ and space to dine together.
Three bedrooms and an additional sofa bed provide flexible sleeping arrangements. Each space has premium bedding, room-darkening shades, and thoughtful storage. Bathrooms are equipped with rain showers, fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries.
Outdoors, two large lawns invite games or quiet afternoons in the sun. The lakeside area includes a wood-fired hot tub and a fire pit surrounded by seating. A pier with a swimming ladder available from May-September offers a place to dip into the lake or cast a fishing line. Paddle boards and a rowing boat are available for guests to use.
The sauna, set in the guesthouse, features a wide window framing views over the water, making it a favourite spot to end the day.
Villa Katajala is well suited for families or groups who appreciate a calm setting with plenty of space to relax, play, and enjoy the simple pleasure of time by the lake.

One cannot miss the Helsinki Cathedral when in the city. This awe-inspiring neoclassical church dominates Senate Square and provides panoramic vistas of the city. For those interested in modern architecture, the Kamppi Chapel and Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art are essential stops.
The cultural treasures of Helsinki are equally remarkable. The Ateneum Art Museum is home to Finland's most extensive art collection, showcasing works from the 19th century to present times. Music aficionados will enjoy a visit to the Sibelius Monument dedicated to Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
Helsinki's culinary scene is dynamic and caters to all palates. From traditional Finnish fare served in quaint taverns to innovative gastronomy in chic restaurants, Helsinki promises a diverse and delectable culinary adventure.
