Upper Mill

The pretty Upper Mill is located within an old water mill building and is the ideal bolt hole for couples. This one-bedroom, single storey cottage is packed full of charm and character with many original features retained during its conversion. Sleeping two guests, you’ll have access to a living room with log burner, a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom. It’s also dog friendly so you’re welcome to bring your pup along for your stay! Situated on the first floor of the original farm water mill building is Upper Mill. This homely cottage for two is accessed via a flight of stairs and is the ideal retreat for a couple looking to enjoy a peaceful break in the North Devon countryside. From the hallway, where there is ample room for storing walking boots and hooks for hanging coats, guests enter the open plan living area. Here you can truly experience the character of the cottage with its high vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and original stone walls. The lounge has a good-sized double sofa from which guests can relax in front of the TV with Freeview and DVD player or stay cosy with the bonus of the wood-burning stove. Next to the lounge is the dining table, which can cater for two. Beyond this and separated by beautiful artwork is the modern, well-equipped kitchen, fitted with an electric oven, hob, microwave, slow cooker and a fridge with freezer compartment. Upper Mill has a nicely sized double bedroom, which has a wood framed double bed, a wardrobe, a dressing table and a mirror. If needed a cot or z-bed can fit into this bedroom. The cottage’s bathroom features a shower over the bath, a wash basin and a WC. Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Upper Mill are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to check-in. Free parking is available in the communal on-site car park. For families staying with young children, a travel cot, a high chair and stair gates can be made available at no additional cost and should be requested at the time of booking. Please note linen is not provided for the cot. If needed during your stay, guests can take advantage of the free on-site shared laundry room, which has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The nearest train station to Combe Martin can be found 12 miles away in Barnstable. Barnstable Train Station has regular direct services operating to Exeter and Lynemouth. One bus route operates in Combe Martin. The 301 operates between Combe Martin, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple. The nearest airport to Combe Martin is Cardiff Airport which is 33 miles away.
