Welcome to Dragonfly Lodge of Higgins Lake, a cozy and pet-friendly vacation retreat located just a quarter mile from the beautiful Higgins Lake in Roscommon, MI. This charming property sleeps up to 6 guests with 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. While not directly on the waterfront, the lodge offers a peaceful setting perfect for those seeking a quiet getaway with easy access to the lake. The property may appear as two separate units, but it is a single, well-appointed home designed for your convenience and comfort. Air Conditioning: There is AC on both sides of the house that are independently controlled. The middle bedroom is controlled by the north side AC.
ATV’s: ATV’s are not permitted for use on the property.
Animals: Deer, squirrels, and chipmunks are common
Bathrooms: There are bathrooms on both sides of the home
North Perch: Full bath with shower, tub & sink
South Perch: Full bath with shower, tub & sink. The tub does have a shower seat.
Beach/Swimming: North Higgins Lake State Park is just 2 miles away!

Cable: There is no traditional cable here, but multiple TVs with Roku Streaming!

Cell Phone Service: Cell service can be spotty, as the roof & siding are steel. We recommend using WiFi calling when inside of the house. Service is fine outside.

Drinking Water: Well water is used at this location. The water is tested & safe to drink, but if you are particular about your water, we recommend bringing bottled water for your stay.
Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.
Fireplace: There is natural gas fireplace on each side! Switches for fan & flame are marked.
Fire-pit: Yes!
Fishing: Bring your poles! Higgins Lake is not an easy lake to fish from the shore, as is better in a boat - brown trout, lake trout, rainbow trout, northern pike, smallmouth bass, steelhead and yellow perch as well as others can be caught on lake.
Fishing License: A license is required to fish in Michigan.
Golf: Forest Dunes Golf Club: 28 minutes (19.4 miles)
Grill: There is a propane grill available for use during your stay.
Grocery Store: Family Fare: 14 minutes (9.9 miles)
Handicap Friendly: South Perch is ADA compliant! There is a ramp outside that leads to the firepit, and there are no steps in on either side. Please let us know if you have a handicap guest coming for your stay!
Heat: Natural gas heat on both sides that are independently controlled. Similar to the AC, the middle bedroom is controlled by the north side.
Hunting: Hunting is not allowed on the property. Please follow all local and state guidelines if hunting in the area.
Internet/WIFI: Yes! There is WiFi for guests to use during their stay.
Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels.
Parking: 4 cars + trailers
Pets: Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we’ll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.
Privacy: There are neighbors within view. The east & south property line is fenced in
Snowmobiles: You can snowmobile right from the property to the trail head on 104 (W Pine Dr). A person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.

Seniors: There are steps down to the fire pit, but there is a ramp for guests to use as well. Zero steps for entry into home.
