The Neighborhood
Golden Hour Hideaway by Tiny Away puts you in the heart of Glenlyon’s countryside, just 8 minutes from Daylesford but far from the usual. This is open sky, rolling farmland, and crisp country air with no city hum in the background. Wake up to golden fields, grazing sheep, and the occasional kangaroo passing by. Spend your mornings at Cliffy’s with a great coffee and breakfast, then enjoy lunch or dinner at the newly refurbished Daylesford Hotel’s outdoor beer garden. If you're in the mood for a local drop, Attwoods Winery and Restaurant in Glenlyon and The Burrow Winery in Denver are both just a five-minute drive away, offering incredible wines and dining experiences. The nearby Daylesford Cidery in Musk is perfect for a relaxed afternoon, serving local cider and beer with a great lunch menu, whether you visit in winter by the fireplace or in summer under the trees. For a more laid-back experience, take a one-minute drive, a 15-minute walk, or a five-minute bike ride to the famous Glenlyon General Store. This cozy spot is perfect for breakfast or lunch, with a beautiful selection of local wines. From there, explore the scenic trails along the Loddon River leading to Glenlyon Reserve—a must-do in autumn and spring when the landscape is at its most vibrant. Our local recommendations: - Lake Daylesford is a man-made lake with a restaurant, playground, and picnic areas. - Hepburn Springs is a town known for its natural setting and healing mineral springs that most vacationers visit. - Daylesford Sunday Market is a premier shopping destination in Victoria offering fresh vegetables, meat, and flowers. - Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens are known for their beauty, stunning fernery, picnic area, and a lookout tower with scenic views. - Trentham Falls is the highest single drop of any waterfall in Central Victoria, the moss-covered falls are suitable for picnics in bush-covered surroundings. Food Scene - Bistro Terroir offers delicious main dishes, an excellent wine selection, and friendly staff. - Daylesford Steakhouse is a traditional heritage steakhouse with good food, ambiance, and service. - Larder Daylesford is a lively cafe known for its single-origin coffee and seasonal menu. Most-visited by locals and city dwellers. - Sault Restaurant Daylesford is one of Daylesford’s best sustainable restaurants, modern cuisine dining with a focus on seasonality and local produce, dining overlooking well-manicured flower fields and its own lake. - Tonna's Family-run Grocer and Blake Family Grocer will provide all your food shopping needs, including local farmers and artisan produce.
