Pagliericci offers a marvellous balance between the beauty and typicality of living in real trulli and the comforts one cannot give up, especially on holiday. The dimensions, details and organisation of the outdoor and indoor spaces give meaning to the property’s subtitle, which is "enjoy trulli".
As you enter, you will find yourself in a living room with a sofa bed, table and chairs with an old-fashioned feel, complemented by a retro refrigerator. The beauty of this room lies in the height of the cone above you, enhanced by the ancient beams. Inside another high cone is the master bedroom with shabby furnishings that make use of niches carved into the stone and transformed into wardrobes. The kitchen. separate from the living room, is well-equipped and has all the comforts, while retaining antique elements such as two old ovens that have become open cupboards.
The last of this group of cones contains a hallway and a bathroom carved out of the trullo: you can enjoy the pleasure of taking a shower in the scenic stone corner under a slice of trullo and use an antique sink carved out of Apulian granite. Completing the house is a large rectangular room: a real ’cummersa’.
The house is equipped with air conditioners, (hot and cold) with their digital thermostats in each room, but you will appreciate the natural air conditioning of the trulli.
Outside you will find the swimming pool, which overlooks the surrounding countryside.
On both sides of the pool is a solarium with furnishings that mix Balinese and shabby, surrounded by a hedge and guarded by a spectacular fir tree that allows great privacy in moments of relaxation.
Beyond the hedge there is the outdoor kitchen, with a dedicated patio where on the ancient stone countertop you can use the sink and gas stove, serve yourself a cocktail on the table - peninsula or take advantage of the white dining table seating 6. Also in the outdoor kitchen area is the barbecue, strategically positioned beside a shady pergola designed to be the living area of this ’outdoor house’.
Despite the presence of Wi-Fi, the connection, as it is not fibre-optic, will be slower than with urban networks.
The Pagliericci are an ideal accommodation to stay in. They are immersed in the generous Apulian countryside rich in fruit trees. They are just a few minutes away from the major places of interest in the area: such as Polignano a Mare, Castellana Grotte, Alberobello and are very close to the characteristic beaches of Monopoli or the bathing establishments of Monopoli.
This property is adjacent to the owners’ residence but completely separated by a reed fence. It has a separate entrance and dedicated outdoor areas, ensuring guests privacy and independence both outdoors and when accessing the accommodation.

About the area
Monopoli, a charming coastal town in Italy's Puglia region, is a captivating blend of history, culture, and Mediterranean beauty. This hidden gem, less frequented by the tourist crowds, offers a serene escape with its picturesque landscapes, pristine beaches, and rich historical tapestry.
The heart of Monopoli lies in its Old Town, a labyrinth of narrow streets and whitewashed buildings that exude an old-world charm. Visitors can wander through these alleys, stumbling upon quaint piazzas, historic churches, and the imposing Castle of Charles V, which stands as a testament to the town's strategic importance through the ages.
The town's coastline is dotted with a series of coves and sandy beaches, providing ample opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. The most famous of these is Cala Porta Vecchia, a picturesque beach nestled against the backdrop of Monopoli's ancient city walls.
For those interested in marine life and underwater exploration, Monopoli's sea is rich with opportunities for diving and snorkeling, revealing a submerged world of biodiversity and even some intriguing shipwrecks.
Culinary enthusiasts will delight in Monopoli's gastronomic offerings, which reflect the region's agricultural bounty and seafood traditions. Local dishes often feature fresh produce, olive oil, and fish, with restaurants and trattorias serving up specialties like orecchiette pasta with turnip tops and sumptuous seafood risottos.
Cultural experiences abound, with the town's calendar dotted with festivals and events that celebrate its heritage. Notable among these is the Festa della Madonna della Madia, where a procession at sea commemorates the miraculous arrival of an icon of the Virgin Mary, which according to legend, helped complete the town's cathedral.
Speaking of which, the Cathedral of Maria Santissima della Madia is an architectural marvel, boasting a stunning Baroque facade and a richly decorated interior. Art lovers will find a treasure trove of religious art and iconography within its walls.
For a taste of rural Puglia, visitors can venture into the surrounding countryside, where ancient olive groves and vineyards paint a bucolic scene. Agritourism is popular here, offering a chance to stay in renovated farmhouses and experience the region's agricultural lifestyle.
In essence, Monopoli is a destination that offers a serene coastal retreat, steeped in history and local traditions, with all the charm expected of a southern Italian town. It's a place where travelers can slow down, savor the moment, and immerse themselves in the authentic Puglian way of life.
