Nature
We are in a rainforest near the base of a mountain. We have critters both large and small that we share the land with. From Ants to bats, mice and raccoons to Bears and Bobcats, we do everything possible to keep them outside but it’s not always possible. Please do not leave food or garbage outside, as it looks like a free meal for the wildlife.
Technology
Due to the remote location, there’s no cable TV, cell service, or high-speed internet available. The home has a land line (telephone), WIFI and a smart TV for streaming your favorite subscription channels. There’s also cell service near the Mt Baker ski area. Wi-Fi is DSL and ranges between 4-9 mbps depending on the time of day and how many people are online.
Weather
The mountains provide us with so much to offer, but predictable weather is not one of them. Please be prepared for all types of severe weather from excess heat in the summer to heavy rains in the Spring and Fall and Snow and Ice in the winter. It is highly recommended that you bring a 4-wheel or All wheel drive vehicle in the winter. We do not offer refunds if the weather is not to your satisfaction.
Limited Services
The town of Glacier has 602 year-round residents, 1 restaurant, a coffee shop/bakery, 1 convenience store, 1 ski rental shop, 1 post office and Zero Stop lights.
If you’re looking for night life, bar hopping and a walkable village (think Whistler), Glacier does have these things. We can offer you a small mountain town with a laid-back lifestyle, unmatched scenery, endless hiking and thrill seeking for all experience levels on the mountain, waterfalls, rivers and rain.
Because services are limited, please come prepared and don’t hesitate ask questions so that expectations are met. This is a sleepy mountain town that is even more quiet in the shoulder season. Large grocery runs should be done in Bellingham (about 45 min away) and there’s a handful of small mom and pop grocery stops along the highway on your way to Glacier.
NOTE: The home has DSL internet with WIFI speeds for basic internet work and streaming movies. With multiple people online, the speeds slow down movies may be interrupted. All the common buildings have Wi-Fi, no password needed.
* Pets are NOT permitted at this condominium.
* Pack-n-play and highchair available upon request.
NOTE: This home is in the mountains and near a ski area and it is subject to inclement weather including excessive snow, Ice, wind and rain. Due to the potential harsh weather, power outages and internet outages happen from time to time and are out of our control. We do not issue any refunds for loss of power or internet. Please prepare for all types of weather when visiting the mountains.
