Home details
Villa Olivida is a private villa set among rolling hills and olive trees, in a quiet Mediterranean landscape shaped by light, colour, and openness. The setting feels relaxed and informal, with a strong sense of personality that emerges naturally rather than being imposed.
The interiors reflect a creative and eclectic spirit, where contemporary elements sit alongside rustic details and natural materials. Colours, textures, and art are present throughout the house, yet the overall atmosphere remains balanced and welcoming, designed for comfort rather than display.
Indoor and outdoor spaces connect easily, encouraging a fluid way of living that follows the rhythm of the day. Time here feels unstructured, with space to slow down, think, and simply be.
Villa Olivida is a place for those who appreciate character and individuality — calm, expressive, and quietly inspiring.
The Space:
Villa Olivida is composed of a main house and a separate trullo dependance, offering both shared spaces and areas of greater privacy.
The main house hosts two double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The bedrooms are calm and comfortable, designed for rest and quiet moments throughout the day. At the centre of the house, the open-plan living area brings together the sitting room and kitchen, opening directly onto a shaded veranda and the garden beyond.
The trullo dependance offers a more intimate retreat. It includes a double bedroom overlooking the garden, a private living area where two single beds can be prepared for children or additional guests, and a bathroom with shower. A compact kitchenette supports light use, making this space a quiet and independent extension of the main house.
Outdoor Living
Outdoor life at Villa Olivida unfolds within a garden of olive trees and Mediterranean plants. The long swimming pool sits naturally within the landscape, accompanied by relaxed seating areas and shaded corners.
A pizza oven and barbecue support easy outdoor meals, while an open-air bathtub offers a simple moment of pause on warm days. The garden encourages unhurried time outdoors — cooking, resting, and letting the day pass without plans.
Villa Olivida offers a setting that feels personal and lived-in, where creativity and stillness coexist without effort.

About the area
Carovigno, a charming town in the Puglia region of Italy, is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape into the heart of Italian culture and history. Known for its stunning whitewashed houses, ancient olive groves, and pristine coastline, Carovigno is a destination that promises an authentic Italian experience away from the hustle and bustle of the more frequented tourist spots.
The town is crowned by the impressive Castello Dentice di Frasso, a medieval castle that has been the sentinel of the area for centuries. Visitors can explore the castle's fortified walls and towers, which offer panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Adriatic Sea. The castle also hosts cultural events and exhibitions, providing a glimpse into the region's rich heritage.
Carovigno's historical center, or "centro storico," is a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys, where every corner reveals a picturesque scene. The town's architecture is a testament to its diverse past, with influences from the Normans, Swabians, and Aragonese. The Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the numerous small chapels dotted around the town are beautiful examples of religious architecture that visitors can admire.
The area around Carovigno is renowned for its olive oil production, and a visit to a local masseria (a traditional farmhouse) to learn about the process of making extra virgin olive oil is a must. Many masserie also offer cooking classes, where you can learn to prepare Pugliese specialties using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
For those looking to relax by the sea, the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve is a short drive from Carovigno. This protected area boasts a stretch of unspoiled coastline with crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The reserve is also a haven for wildlife, offering opportunities for birdwatching and nature walks.
Carovigno's culinary scene is a delight for food enthusiasts. The town's restaurants serve up traditional dishes that highlight the flavors of the region, such as "orecchiette" pasta with turnip tops and fresh seafood from the Adriatic. The local "focaccia" and "taralli" are snack staples not to be missed.
With its blend of history, culture, natural beauty, and gastronomy, Carovigno provides a tranquil yet enriching Italian experience. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the slow pace of life, savor the simple pleasures, and leave with a sense of having discovered one of Italy's best-kept secrets.
