Introducing Villa Charming Grove, a secluded and enchanting haven for those seeking an idyllic retreat. Nestled on the lower slopes of the Tramuntana mountain range, this private estate offers breathtaking countryside views, making it an ideal setting for a family holiday in the Pollensa hills. The captivating old town of Pollensa is just a short drive away, while the pristine beaches of Cala San Vicente and Puerto Pollensa beckon at a distance of 8.5 km.
Villa Charming Grove, a lovingly restored family home exuding character, invites you to experience the charm of a bygone era. Dating back to the eighteenth century, this stone-clad farmhouse spans two floors and boasts traditional features, such as inner stone walls and terracotta tiles. The accommodation is thoughtfully furnished, and all bedrooms enjoy complimentary air conditioning. Stepping through the original Majorcan wooden double doors on the front covered terrace, you enter a spacious hallway. To the left, the lounge beckons with its comfortable seating, traditional stone banks, flat screen, and satellite TV. The adjacent dining room offers delightful garden and pool views, while the fully equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher, microwave, wall oven, and gas hob, opens to a covered BBQ area. A walk-in pantry adds to the convenience, and a second door leads to the utility area housing a washing machine. To the right of the entrance, an inner stone archway reveals a twin bedroom with views of the pool and garden, accompanied by a generously sized shower room.
Ascending the main stairway, a galleried landing leads to the master twin bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and direct access to a private sun terrace. Two additional charming twin bedrooms each open onto a second sun terrace and share a spacious family bath/shower room. In alignment with local energy-saving initiatives, the villa offers timed air conditioning from 17:30 to 19:30 and from 22:00 to 09:00.
The rear of the villa features an impressive covered dining terrace with a substantial solid oak "banquet" dining table, comfortably accommodating 8 persons. The oval-shaped swimming pool, with Roman steps inviting you into its crystal-clear waters, is surrounded by sun loungers on furnished terraces and grassy areas, perfect for children’s play amidst hedged gardens. A poolside shower adds to the convenience, and a picturesque secluded shaded sun terrace provides an ideal spot for afternoon siestas and relaxation. About the area
Pollença, nestled in the northern corner of Mallorca, Spain, is a charming town that offers a delightful blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. This picturesque destination is a treasure trove for travelers seeking a serene escape with a touch of the Mediterranean lifestyle.
The town's historic center is a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets that lead to the grand Plaça Major, the main square. Here, visitors can admire the imposing 13th-century church, Església de Nostra Senyora dels Àngels, and enjoy the bustling weekly market where local artisans and farmers showcase their products.
Pollença's Roman bridge, known as "Pont Romà," is a testament to the town's ancient past and is a popular spot for photographs. The Calvari steps, a set of 365 stone steps, offer a challenging climb rewarded with panoramic views of the town and the surrounding Sierra de Tramuntana mountains. At the top, the Oratory of Calvari is a peaceful sanctuary worth visiting.
For those interested in art and culture, the Museu de Pollença houses a collection of works by local and international artists, as well as artifacts that narrate the town's history. The town also hosts the prestigious Pollença Festival, which attracts music lovers with its classical concerts held in the atmospheric Santo Domingo cloister.
Nature enthusiasts will find Pollença an ideal base for exploring the Tramuntana range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hiking, cycling, and bird watching are popular activities in this region, with trails leading to stunning landscapes and hidden coves. The nearby Cap de Formentor offers dramatic cliffside views and the picturesque Formentor Beach, with its crystal-clear waters, is perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
Pollença's port, Port de Pollença, is a short drive away and is renowned for its beautiful beachfront promenade lined with cafes and restaurants. The port area also offers a range of water sports, including sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing.
The town's culinary scene reflects the rich agricultural heritage of the region, with local restaurants serving traditional Mallorcan dishes made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. From tapas bars to upscale dining, there's something to satisfy every palate.
In summary, Pollença captivates visitors with its historic charm, cultural richness, and stunning natural surroundings. It's a place where one can immerse in the slow pace of island life, enjoy the arts, and embrace the great outdoors, all within the beautiful setting of Mallorca.
