This incredible cabin is located directly on the Watauga River in Valle Crucis, with 26 acres stretching up behind the house. The original Mast General Store and Valle Crucis Community Park are 3.5 miles from Riverview Retreat. Downtown Boone and Downtown Banner Elk are 25 minutes, and Blowing Rock is 35 minutes. Other nearby places of interest are Grandfather Mountain State Park and Profile Trail, Sugar Mountain, Alpine Run Wilderness Coaster and Adventure Park, Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Zipline, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Riverview Retreat is a central location to many High Country activities and attractions.
There is plenty to do for fun and relaxation at Riverview Retreat. This cabin boasts a spacious lower-level game room with multiple games, a big-screen TV, a hot tub, a fire pit, and a large deck overlooking the river. You will also enjoy direct access to the Watauga River. Fishing enthusiasts will be delighted at this prime fishing location with 700 feet of river bank to walk along and fish the river. The river is stocked with trout, and fishing poles are provided for guest use in the shed. Please remember to seek the proper licensing with Fish and Wildlife.
The blend of sophistication and mountain charm on the main level inspires. The formal living room has high vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, leather furniture, and a stone wood-burning fireplace. The main floor also includes a separate media room for reading or streaming on the smart TV. The spacious kitchen flows into the dining room with a custom raw edge wood dining table and out to the main level deck with a gas grill and outdoor seating. Guests of all ages will love the outdoor space to explore and enjoy, from the picnic table platform above the house to numerous quiet, relaxing places to watch the river flow by. Riverview Retreat was designed and constructed to flow with the natural stone and includes native landscaping and custom-built details inside and out. The hot tub sits on the lower level patio, and below is the fire pit and yard to enjoy a game of cornhole together.
The main level king master bedroom is bright and spacious with high vaulted ceilings, windows, deck access, and a private ensuite bathroom. It has a small sleeper chair for a child’s sleeping spot. Upstairs are a queen bedroom and a bunk room with two twin-over-twin bunks that share a full upstairs bathroom. The downstairs bedroom has a king bed and a double-over-double bunk bed.
The lower-level game room is a delightful space with something different around every corner. There is a huge flat-screen Smart TV, cozy seating, two arcade games, and a fun space with foosball and shuffleboard. The media space on the lower level has a couch that serves as an additional sleeping space for two. Riverview Retreat also includes a dedicated quiet workspace, a large laundry room, and a poker table on the main level. Book lovers will be delighted with an extensive library of reading material throughout the cabin. Outside, the shed has fishing poles, kayaks, life jackets, river floating tubes, and a pop-up tent that can be used on the upper platform for fun. The shed by the river also has plenty of space to store your gear, too!
Riverview Retreat has a paved driveway with parking for 4 vehicles. PLEASE NOTE - PARKING FOR THIS HOME IS ONLY IN THE DRIVEWAY. DO NOT PARK ON OR NEAR THE BRIDGE. (The small gravel parking area before the bridge belongs to another property owner). You will be towed if you park near or on the bridge. Winter travelers should prepare for inclement weather with AWD or 4WD vehicles and tire chains. There is central heating and air conditioning, wifi, and Smart TVs throughout for guests to log into their streaming accounts. Two dogs are welcome with a reservation. Allows pets with an additional fee.
