A-Frame on Balsam in the Hound Ears Club gated community is at the epicenter of the High Country, the perfect home base for your mountain adventures. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about five miles away and offers overlooks with breathtaking views and hiking trails for hikers of all skill levels. Enjoy a walk around Bass Lake or explore the Cone Manor. The town of Boone is less than fifteen minutes away and has many local restaurants and breweries, local shopping in downtown Boone, and several parks the kids in your party will love. Banner Elk is less than twenty away and features local dining, wineries, and the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster. Downtown Blowing Rock, about twenty minutes from the cabin, is perfect for a stroll, window shopping, or having a bite to eat. The town park will delight guests of all ages with playgrounds, tennis courts, and basketball courts.
A-Frame on Balsam is an updated cottage tucked away on a tree-filled lot. Thoughtfully decorated for modern comfort and rustic allure, this will be a favorite getaway for the whole family. It features two living areas and a private loft workspace so the whole family can spread out or gather together to create new memories. The main floor has vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and an open floor plan with a wall of glass doors and windows letting in natural light. The spacious kitchen has sleek stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. The large island offers ample room for meal preparations while the gas range awaits your gourmet holiday meal. The coffee bar will be a treat for the coffee lovers in your party. The living room has modern furniture around the stone fireplace with gas logs and an HDTV. Sliding glass doors lead to the expansive back deck with a gas grill and outdoor dining. Take in the cool mountain air while sipping your morning coffee. Guests enjoy a game room downstairs with a shuffleboard table, board games, and a TV. The loft has a private workspace if you’re looking for a place to do some work.
This mountain cottage can accommodate up to ten guests in four sleeping areas. The main floor features the master bedroom with a king bed and an ensuite with a step-in shower and double vanities. A second bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed and shares the hallway bathroom. Downstairs, there is a second king bedroom and a full bathroom. The kids will enjoy the sleeping area in the loft with two twin beds and a TV. The game room offers an additional sleeping area with a queen-sized sleeper sofa.
A-Frame on Balsam has central heating and air conditioning on the main level and loft. The downstairs game room and bedroom have mini-splits to provide year-round comfort. Guests will have access to WiFi, YouTube TV, and a washer and dryer. Please note that there is a ring doorbell camera at the front door. Dogs are not allowed. The level paved driveway has room for three vehicles and leads to a one-step entrance. We recommend that winter travelers prepare with an AWD or 4WD. Please note: Hound Ears does not allow motorcycles with in the gated areas.
