Nestled in the heart of Beech Mountain, The Bear Dance is the perfect destination for a mountain getaway. Beech Mountain Ski Resort and Beech Mountain Club offer year-round attractions just one mile away. The ski resort features skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating during the winter months. In the summer, it offers trails for mountain biking, hiking, and disc golf. Public access to the Lower Pond Creek is a short walk from the house. Within a few miles are several trails and Emerald Outback Trail Park, with options for mountain bikers, hikers, and trail runners. Buckeye Recreation Center is five miles away, with fishing, basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, and a hiking trail to a beautiful waterfall. Twenty minutes down the mountain, Banner Elk offers local shopping and dining, the Banner Elk Winery and Vineyard, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort.
Step into The Bear Dance, a three-level mountain chalet with multiple living areas where each member of your group can find a favorite place to relax. The main floor living room has cathedral ceilings with tongue-and-groove paneling and a sitting area around the grand stone fireplace with gas logs. After a day on the slopes, warm yourself by the fire and reminisce about your mountain adventures. The dining room and an additional sitting area are just off the living room. It offers a quiet reading nook for the bibliophile in your party. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, tongue-and-groove ceilings, and ample cabinet space for all your cooking needs. The spacious deck has a fire table, a charcoal grill perfect for grilling supper, and an outdoor dining table where guests can take in the cool mountain air. Your next family game night awaits in the lower-level game room, where there is something for everyone. Excitement will follow you from the foosball table to the air hockey table. Take a step back in time at the PacMan Arcade game. Watch the big game on the Smart TV while lounging on the plush couch by the gas fireplace. The kitchenette offers added convenience for guests to store their snacks and keep their drinks cold. An additional outdoor table is located on the lower deck. On the back patio, guests will find a 5-person hot tub where they can relax after a day on the slopes.
The Bear Dance can comfortably accommodate twelve guests in five bedrooms. The main floor master bedroom has a king bed and ensuite with a jetted tub and step-in shower. The main floor also has a twin bunk room and a queen bedroom that shares a full bathroom. The top floor bedroom sleeps three in a queen and twin cot and has an ensuite bathroom. The lower level has a fifth bedroom with a queen bed and a shared bathroom.
Additional amenities include Wifi, YouTube TV, and a washer and dryer. Outside is a fire pit where guests can roast marshmallows in the evening. There is a twin-size roll-out cot in the lower-level bedroom. The lower floor has a mini-split providing heat and air conditioning in the living room game area, the lower level bedroom also has an electric wall heater. The top and main floor have central heating along with 2 portable AC units (No Central AC). Two dogs are welcome with your reservation, with an additional pet fee. The gravel parking area accommodates up to four vehicles. 4WD or AWD and tire chains are highly recommended for winter traveling.

Beech Mountain Club
Guests with a reservation at The Bear Dance are eligible to apply for a membership transfer to the Beech Mountain Club (BMC) for the dates of the reservation.
BMC policies apply to a membership transfer.
Upon booking, guests will receive an email with instructions, the BMC transfer policies, and the transfer application. This must be submitted to the club by the guest at least 3 days prior to the transfer start date, which can be no sooner than your arrival date.
A membership transfer fee starting at $300 is charged to the guest by BMC upon check-in at the club.
Memberships start at the social level. Guests may upgrade membership with additional fees paid to BMC (see the BMC website for what is included with each level).
Transfers are administered by BMC, which has no affiliation with Property Manager.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
You may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival, you will receive a refund of half the amount paid to date. Cancellations within 30 days before the arrival date do not receive a refund. If you purchase travel insurance and the reason for the cancellation is covered, you may recover the entire amount.
