Welcome to Trailhead Cabin!
Trailhead Cabin is a comfortable log home between Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. It is close to Hound Ears Club, Chetola Resort, Foscoe, Seven Devils, and Valle Crucis. As the name implies, the cabin is near the trailhead leading to Hebron Rock Colony, a popular hiking destination with waterfalls, swimming holes, freshwater fishing, and fly fishing. One of the most popular summer activities around Boone is to take advantage of the area hiking trails and swimming holes. There are over 70 freshwater swimming holes around North Carolina, and we are fortunate that many are right here in the High Country. Locals, Appalachian State University Students, and tourists love to find these natural water parks, but locating one can be tricky. If you stay at the Trailhead Cabin, you won’t even have to get in the car to access one of the most desired hiking trails in the High Country.
The main floor and loft have the rustic ambiance of an authentic log home. The main floor has a queen bedroom. Upstairs is a large master bedroom with a king bed and a sitting area in the loft. The lower level has two twin beds and a playroom with a game table.
Allows pets with an additional fee paid after booking.
*The privacy you can enjoy at Trailhead Cabin is accessed via a two (2) mile, state-maintained gravel road. After heavy rains, the driveway can develop ruts, requiring careful, skillful driving if your vehicle has low clearance. We recommend vehicles with higher clearance. During winter weather, snow plowing is as good as can be expected on a steep, rutted gravel driveway. A 4-wheel drive is required to negotiate the driveway during winter weather.
