Welcome to Lookout Place!
Take in phenomenal panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from Lookout Place! Located behind the Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park in Boone, this three-level home is perfectly perched to offer location convenience, seclusion, and long-range mountain views. Downtown Boone is 15 minutes from the cabin, and Downtown Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, and Appalachian Ski Mountain are less than 30 minutes. Wilkesboro and the North Wilkesboro Speedway are about 35 miles away. Take a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, with plenty of lookouts and hiking options, just 12 minutes down the road.
Lookout Place is a three-level cabin with a cozy living room, dining room, and kitchen on the main floor. Leather furniture around a warm wood-burning stove, a flat-screen TV with wood floors, and floor-to-ceiling tongue-and-groove paneling give an authentic cabin feel. The wall of windows surveys the mountains, and the covered deck offers seating year-round. Three queen bedrooms accommodate six guests, with one on the main level and two spacious rooms upstairs. The unfinished lower level includes a kitchenette with an extra fridge, stovetop, and plenty of room to store mountain bikes, ski gear, paddle boards, or other mountain adventure items.
There is wifi, Roku streaming on the TVs, and a washer and dryer at Lookout Place. Please note that there is no dishwasher, and dishes must be hand-washed. The main floor and upper level include window a/c units for summer comfort. There is no a/c on the lower level, which tends to stay cooler even in warmer weather. In addition to the wood stove on the main level, there is a propane wall heater on all three levels. Two dogs are welcome with a reservation for an additional fee.
Enjoy surveying the mountains at the aptly named Lookout Place!
***It is important to note that this home is located on a single-lane gravel driveway with several steep switchbacks. There is a high possibility that it will not be cleared after a snowfall. During winter weather, AWD or 4WD, tire chains, and a vehicle with adequate clearance are necessary. Even with proper equipment, the vehicle operator must be an experienced and capable winter weather and all-terrain driver.
