Escape to this peaceful retreat amongst the olive groves enjoying
breathing panoramic views on the edge of Chianti. You can also venture
onwards to the explore the clay hills of the Crete Senesi, a lunar-like
landscape spiked with cypress trees, and to bathe in the hot springs at
Rapolano Terme.
Valdambra is captured in the spectacular view from the shaded terrace
of this traditional stone villa. Step inside and you’ll discover
spacious lodgings beneath vaulted ceilings, where beautiful original
features are complemented by tasteful furnishings. There’s a large
lounge-diner and, through a graceful brick-edged arch, a well-equipped
modern kitchen with a door to a terrace set for al fresco meals.
Climb the spiral staircase from the lounge-diner to a mezzanine sitting
area, off which lie three double bedrooms. They include a luxurious
master suite, with lounge, sleeping area and en-suite bathroom and
French doors leading to a loggia with steps down to the kitchen
terrace. Here, back at ground level, you’ll find a further en-suite
double bedroom with its own private entrance.
A path into the garden reveals a pool house, another private retreat
for two, with kitchenette and bathroom, and the pool and sundeck. Here
again you can drink in the sublime view to the horizon – and consider
where your explorations will take you next.
