Poggio a Mandria is a lovingly restored Tuscan villa in a spectacular
setting, surrounded by olive groves with wonderful views over the
Valdarno. It offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for those
seeking a relaxing holiday in the heart of nature, whether with family
or friends. Both indoors and outdoors, there are inviting spaces for
relaxation and socialising, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The picturesque village of Montegonzi can be reached on foot in about
20 minutes via a steep path. It offers a small grocery shop and one
restaurant. In Cavriglia, only ten minutes away by car, and slightly
further in Montevarchi with its large supermarkets, you will find a
wider range of amenities. The Montevarchi Terranuova train station
provides direct trains to Florence, a stress-free way to visit the
Renaissance city. The towns and wineries of the Chianti Classico are
within easy reach, and Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Lake Trasimeno and the
UNESCO-recognised Val d’Orcia are wonderful options for unforgettable
day trips.
The stone villa stands in well-maintained gardens with terracotta
planters filled with colourful flowers. A covered terrace with dining
table and chairs next to the house offers an ideal spot for al fresco
meals. The pool area is separated from the garden by a fence, offering
peace of mind to families with small children. A pergola nearby is
furnished with comfortable seating and is perfect for relaxation.
The three-storey villa has been sensitively restored, preserving
original features such as wooden beamed ceilings and exposed stone
floors. There are two kitchens, one modern on the ground floor with
direct access to the dining terrace, and a traditional kitchen with a
large table on the first floor. The bedrooms are individually styled,
and one ground-floor bedroom with ensuite bathroom is suitable for
guests with reduced mobility.
The friendly owner lives with his dog about 80 metres away on the
estate.
