from Lucca, in a peaceful suburb with its own bar and shops. You’ll
find this a comfortable and spacious place to stay, good for three
couples who want a bit of life on the doorstep. Pisa, Florence and the
coastal resort of Viareggio are all within reach for day trips, too.
This house is about taking it easy. Set in a large, private garden,
with olive trees for shade, not only is there a sizeable private pool,
but it has a covered Jacuzzi and sauna, too. The enclosed terrace, with
floor-to-ceiling glass, is a good place to relax and take in the
splendid views of the garden. Furnished for dining, on chillier nights
it’s an alternative to the terrace that spans the length of the villa.
