Casa Francia is a large villa set in the green hills of the Valdera
valley, in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. With plenty of
space both inside and out, it is ideal for extended families or groups
of friends wishing to spend an unforgettable holiday together in
Tuscany.
The historic village of Palaia, whose roots date back to the 4th
century, is less than a five-minute drive away and offers a selection
of shops and welcoming restaurants. In under 15 minutes you can reach
the town of Peccioli, which provides a full range of amenities and has
won awards for the way it blends medieval heritage with contemporary
art. Volterra, famous for its Etruscan and medieval history, Pisa,
Lucca, San Gimignano and the coastal town of Livorno are all within
easy reach for day trips. The Renaissance city of Florence is only 68
kilometres away. Wine lovers will also enjoy the renowned Villa Saletta
winery, just a ten-minute drive.
The holiday home is set in a tranquil countryside location with views
across gentle hills. The cream-painted villa with brick and stone
accents has a terrace running the full length of the house. The pool
lies on a level below the main villa, where there is also a smaller
house offering additional guest space.
The accommodation consists of the main villa and a converted barn that
can host four guests. It features its own living room, a fully equipped
kitchen, and a small private garden with seating. Inside, the villa is
decorated in elegant country-house style, combining terracotta floors,
wooden beam ceilings, neutral tones and comfortable, stylish furniture.
Carefully chosen details and fine fabrics complete the picture.

About the area
Empoli, a charming town in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, is a delightful destination that offers a slice of Italian life away from the throngs of tourists. Known for its rich history, cultural heritage, and proximity to the major cities of Florence, Pisa, and Siena, Empoli is an ideal base for exploring the Tuscan region.
The town's historical center is a treasure trove of medieval and Renaissance architecture, with the Collegiate Church of Sant'Andrea being a standout. This church houses a magnificent terracotta altarpiece by the Renaissance sculptor Luca della Robbia. Strolling through the town's streets, visitors will encounter elegant palaces and squares, such as Piazza Farinata degli Uberti, which is lined with cafes and shops, perfect for enjoying a leisurely espresso or gelato.
Empoli is also known for its glassmaking tradition, and the Glass Museum (Museo del Vetro) offers an intriguing look into the art and history of glass production in the region. For those interested in more recent history, the Museum of the Collegiate Church showcases artifacts and artworks from the town and surrounding areas.
The town's location in the Tuscan countryside means that visitors can easily venture out to the rolling hills and vineyards that Tuscany is famous for. Wine enthusiasts will relish the opportunity to visit local wineries and taste some of the world's finest wines, such as Chianti, right at the source.
Empoli's market is a highlight for those looking to experience local life. The vibrant Mercato settimanale di Empoli, held every Thursday, is where locals and visitors alike can find everything from fresh produce to clothing and household goods. It's a great place to pick up picnic supplies before heading out to explore the countryside or to find unique souvenirs to take home.
For a dose of nature, the nearby Parco di Serravalle offers a peaceful escape with its green spaces, walking paths, and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. It's an excellent spot for a picnic or a leisurely walk.
Despite its modest size, Empoli provides a genuine taste of Tuscany without the crowds. Its convenient location, combined with its historical and cultural offerings, make it a worthwhile stop for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the Tuscan way of life.
