One of the main attractions in Clayton Bay is bird watching. The area is part of the internationally recognized Ramsar wetland and is home to a diverse range of bird species, making it a prime spot for ornithologists and casual birdwatchers alike. The tranquil waters of Lake Alexandrina also provide an ideal setting for sailing, kayaking, and fishing, with the lake being well-stocked with species such as Murray cod and golden perch.
For those who enjoy walking and hiking, Clayton Bay offers scenic trails that meander through the town and along the waterfront, offering breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding natural beauty.
