Sleeping up to 11 guests across the 2 properties and 6 bedrooms, and 2 hot tubs, Two Trees is perfect for families.
The charming and famous village of Hetton in Yorkshire sees scores of tourists flocking to it every year to make the most of its picturesque Yorkshire Dales scenery as well as the incredible dining experiences, wholesome welcoming pubs, great cafes and wonderful little shops.
Not far from Skipton, Hetton offers plenty for groups of friends or families to come and explore. First and foremost we should mention The Angel at Hetton which has been recognised for its world class food with a Michelin Star. Nestled at the heart of the village, The Angel, and chef patron Michael Wignall welcome keen foodies from all over the world. As said by the team at The Angel themselves, Michael and his wife Johanna have a vision to keep everything that the Angel was famous for; fantastic food, a warm welcome and a deep connection with the dramatic Yorkshire landscape – and make it outstanding.
If you’re up for exploring, Hetton is a brilliant base for hiking or cycling through the Dales. There are plenty of trails nearby, whether you’re looking for an easy-going walk or something a bit more challenging. The landscape around here is classic Yorkshire Dales—green, hilly, and full of sheep. You could spend hours just wandering the paths, admiring the countryside, and breathing in that fresh country air. And if you’re keen on a day trip, nearby towns like Grassington and Skipton are worth a visit, each offering their own slice of local history, markets, and quaint shops.
Nearby
Venture just a little beyond Hetton, and you’ll find plenty to keep everyone entertained in the surrounding area, whether you’re after a bit of history, a family day out, or just more of that glorious Yorkshire scenery.
First up, Skipton is only a short drive away and definitely worth a visit. Known as the "Gateway to the Dales," it’s a lively market town with a proper traditional charm. Start your day with a wander around Skipton Castle, one of the best and well preserved mediaeval castles in England. The kids will love exploring the ancient rooms and twisting staircases, imagining knights and princesses around every corner. For a more relaxed pace, you can take a leisurely boat ride along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The towpath is also great for a family walk or bike ride, with plenty of spots to stop for a picnic.
For animal lovers, Hesketh Farm Park is a big hit with the kids. It’s a working farm just a stone’s throw from Skipton where the whole family can get up close with all sorts of friendly animals. There are tractor rides, lamb feeding in spring, and even a bit of egg collecting. It’s a fun, hands-on day out where the kids can run wild and get a taste of farm life.
Of course, the best part about staying near Hetton is that, even when you’re out and about, you’re never far from the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales. Whether you’re planning a short family walk or a more challenging hike, the whole area is crisscrossed with trails to suit all ages and abilities. There’s something special about rambling through the hills, taking in the rolling views, and knowing a hearty pub meal isn’t too far away.
So whether you fancy a bit of history, some outdoor fun, or just quality time in the great British countryside, the area around Hetton offers plenty for a memorable family trip.
