Takoda - "Friend to Everyone" is a 3600 sq ft adobe-style home located just 2 miles from the Plaza and is situated amongst exclusive homes in a very quiet established neighborhood.
Entering through a private walled courtyard and proceeding through a large wooden door that takes you to a formal entry which welcomes you into an open living room with a fireplace, with great gathering spaces offering large sliding glass doors opening to an oversized patio that will keep you warm with its woodburning fireplace and its enchanting views to the West of the Jemez mountain range.
In the formal dining room, you’ll have a long oval table to seat 8-10 people. A large modern designer kitchen with floor-to-ceiling windows. A very large entertaining island, 2 ovens, 3 sinks, a coffee station, a large refrigerator, and a pantry. A separate Bar area with a beverage fridge.
A deeply comfortable Den with large screen TV, oversized wood-burning fireplace, Feather sofa, and Glass Desk for at-home office needs.
The Master bedroom has a King Size Canopy Framed Bed. Near the Bed, there is a ‘Skycove’ nook window box where you can enjoy the nightly sunsets or watch the weather. It has a cozy candle-filled fireplace. The master bathroom has a walk-in Shower, a walk-through master closet, double sinks, and a freestanding tub with vast views of the surrounding hills. Double French doors lead to the main entertaining patio.
Bedroom two has a King Size bed and a seating area with a couch and a walk-in closet. An oversized shower and double sinks. It also has a private balcony with French doors.
Bedroom three has a queen-size french Iron bed, and a large closet space, and is adjacent to the 3rd bathroom with a large glass shower.
The laundry room is fitted with a new washer and dryer and an oversized soaking sink. Two roll-away hampers and a great space for flower arranging and all domestic duties.
A wonderful long hallway separates the suites enabling all guests to have their own privacy. Skylights throughout the home make for beautiful light in all rooms. The house is on a raised ridge which enables views from every room in the house.
Covered patios make for year-round entertaining at the large outdoor dining table. Outdoor furniture to enjoy the patio and an outside fireplace. A path leads down to the Pinon and Cypress trees that surround the property.
The house is decorated with an eclectic mix of Antiques, Mid-Century Modern, and Contemporary furnishings. With an emphasis on eco & sustainable materials, the Interior Designer has created a soothing ‘Organic Modern’ environment to observe the textures of Santa Fe’s wild landscapes & forever-changing skies.
*There are two ways to drop into town. Artist Road being the main route or take the meandering back roads which is more picturesque, also they are lovely roads to bike or walk. It is 1.5 miles to the galleries and restaurants of Canyon Road. Also equal distance to the Auberge Resort ‘Bishops Lodge’ & Ten Thousand Waves Spa.
The circle driveway enables easy off-street parking for 6 vehicles. It is not a through street so there is no vehicle noise at all.
