Cove Keep sits on a quiet, wooded stretch of the northern Oregon coast in Arch Cape, three stories of glass and timber angled at the Pacific. It’s built for people who came here to disconnect — the kind of house where the ocean is the only thing competing for attention, and it wins.
You wake up to the water. Step outside for the cold, clean coastal air, or walk down toward Cove Beach when the tide’s right. When you’d rather not move, there’s a book and the Pacific doing what it does.
Inside, large west-facing picture windows frame the ocean across the open living and dining area, where high ceilings keep everything bright and airy even when the weather turns — which, on this coast, is part of the appeal. An antique-style stove anchors the room on cooler evenings, and the large sofa is where the group tends to settle.
The kitchen is fully equipped, with quartz countertops, stainless appliances, a dining table that seats eight, and barstool seating for the casual version of dinner. Three bedrooms give everyone room to spread out, and every bed in the house carries a memory foam mattress, a choice of pillows, and hotel-grade linens.
The primary suite takes the king bed, its own balcony, and an uninterrupted ocean view. The second bedroom holds a queen. The third has two twin-over-full bunks, which makes it the kids’ room by unanimous decision, and a queen sleeper sofa in the second living room adds flexibility for a larger group. In-home laundry handles the rest.
Cove Keep sits just north of Oswald West State Park, where a forest trail drops through old-growth spruce to Short Sand Beach — one of the best short hikes on the coast and a serious surf spot when the swell cooperates. Hug Point is a few minutes north for sea caves, a waterfall onto the sand, and tide pools worth timing your day around, and the Neahkahnie Mountain trailhead is close enough for a morning that ends with the whole coastline laid out below you. Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock sit about fifteen minutes north for groceries, shops, and dinner; Manzanita is a similar run south over the mountain. The privacy here is real, but nothing is genuinely far.
