Welcome to Elk Watch at Hound Ears! This warm and welcoming mountain chalet is the magical mountain getaway you’ve been craving!
As you enter the home you’ll love the open, airy feeling in the great room. This room offers exposed-beam vaulted tongue & groove ceilings, a stone wood burning fireplace, TV, and cozy furniture arranged ideally for conversation or watching your favorite show. Behind the fireplace you’ll find the kitchen & dining area. The dining table seats 6, and the chefs in your group will appreciate the well equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and spacious counters.
Elk Watch offers 3 beautiful bedrooms for you to enjoy. On the main level is a King suite with TV and access to the deck, and the private bath has a tiled shower. There’s also a Queen suite on the main level, complete with a private bath with tub/shower. Downstairs is a third bedroom with three twin beds and a trundle, and guests in this room may use the full bath with shower located down the hall. There’s also a den downstairs with another woodburning fireplace, TV, and a sleeper sofa.
You’re sure to love relaxing outside on the deck and enjoy the cool mountain air. The main level deck has a selection of patio furniture under the covered portion, and the open air section has the relaxing hot tub and a gas grill. In the yard you’ll find a rock-lined firepit area, the perfect place to tell stories and roast marshmallows all night long.
Elk Watch is located just west of Boone in the gated community of Hound Ears, and the towns of Boone and Banner Elk are each just a scenic 15 minute drive away. All of the best shopping, dining, and attractions in the High Country are close by as well. Come make Elk Watch your home away from home!
Additional Notes:
- CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Due to neighborhood restrictions, reservations may only be booked more than 3 days, or 72 hours, prior to arrival. Guests must complete an information form for the Hound Ears neighborhood upon booking, and the reservation will be approved based on the form.
- Motorcycles are strictly prohibited inside the Hound Ears community.
- This home is pet friendly for one (1) mature, well-trained dog. Thank you for not requesting an exception to the number of allowed pets.
- Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You receive two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- Rental guests cannot access any Hound Ears Club amenities or buildings, including golf, pool, tennis, or the restaurant; as per Club rules updated in late 2023.
- Check-in is after 4pm and Check-out is by 10am.
-This home has a paved driveway with parking capacity for 4 vehicles. There are 6 steps to enter the main level.
- All BRMR homes come with a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
- Towels and linens will be provided for you.
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- Please note that the distances shown on OTA’s map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.
