High Peak Retreat, an upscale log cabin with long-range mountain views, is strategically located just a half-mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s a mere 5 miles from downtown Blowing Rock, 6 miles from Appalachian Ski Mountain, and 8 miles from Boone, offering you the perfect balance of tranquility and accessibility.
Shopping, Restaurants, Horseback Riding, Gem Mining, Sightseeing, Snow Skiing/snowboarding/Ice Skating/Snow Tubing/Sledding, and other family-friendly activities are all within minutes of this conveniently located vacation home. Hiking, walking, and Riding trails abound, some within a mile or two of High Peak Retreat, including the well-known Mountains to Sea Trail. Numerous lakes and rivers are nearby as well. Enjoy its serene setting in an established mountain community that is central and convenient to Blowing Rock, Boone, and all the High Country has to offer.
Directly entering the main level covered patio door from the paved parking area provides convenient one-step access. The main level features an open-concept living area with a stacked-stone gas log fireplace, leather furniture, and a big-screen TV. Large windows let the mountain view into the wood interior living space. The kitchen has stainless appliances and granite countertops, with a stainless basin sink and a large center island to provide convenience for meal preparation. Next to the kitchen is the dining table with seating for eight, plus seating for four at the island. Outside the main level is a deck overlooking the view with a gas grill, a gas fire table, and outdoor dining tables.
This unique cabin includes three bedrooms on the main level, including a master suite with a King bed, TV, deck access, and a full ensuite bathroom. The queen bedroom has deck access, a TV, and a full hallway bathroom with a tiled tub and shower combo. The bunk room is filled with fun games and includes a TV and ensuite bathroom with a custom tile and stone step-in shower. The bunk room has two twin over double bunks for sleeping up to six. In total, the cabin has three bathrooms and one half-bath.
The lower level features a game room with a pool table and a Pac-Man arcade game. A leather Restoration Hardware sofa also converts to a comfortable queen bed. The patio with the luxury hot tub is also accessible from the lower level, from which guests can enjoy sunny days, starry nights, and priceless mountain views.
High Peak Retreat offers central heating and air conditioning on the main level, mini-splits on the lower level for year-round comfort, and high-speed WiFi internet. All TVs have paid TV programming apps. The quality and care with which the owner of High Peak Retreat has furnished and outfitted this beautiful mountain cabin are exceptional.

The approach to High Peak Retreat is all paved roads and a paved driveway leads to the house. For those with electric vehicles, take advantage of one of the very few area homes with an EV charger. Winter guests should prepare for inclement weather with 4WD or AWD vehicles, and at times of deep snow or icy roads, chains may be needed to navigate the mountains. High Peak Retreat is pet-friendly for 2 dogs under 35 pounds! Standard pet fees apply.
