Emerald Outback Trail Park, with trails for mountain bikers, hikers, and trail runners, is less than three miles away. Buckeye Lake Recreation Area is five miles away, with fishing, basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, and a hiking trail to a beautiful waterfall. Twenty minutes down the mountain, the quaint town of Banner Elk gives guests access to local shopping and dining, Banner Elk Winery and Vineyard, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, and Lees-McRae College.
Bluebeary Bungalow is a cozy home with room for the family. Upon entering the bungalow, guests will find bright vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, giving a warm mountain feel. The main living room has comfortable furniture around the stone fireplace with gas logs. Relax around the fire and share stories after a day on the slopes or hiking on a scenic trail. The updated kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite countertops ready to prepare a home-cooked meal. The dining table can seat six for dinner or family game night. The top deck has rocking chairs for morning coffee and fresh mountain air. Downstairs is a second living area and game room with a pool table. This room has a second stone fireplace with gas logs and plush furniture, perfect for curling up with a book or watching your favorite show. The spacious lower deck has Adirondack chairs and outdoor dining at the picnic tables. The fire pit awaits your campfire stories and scores just below the house.
This charming two-level bungalow can accommodate eight guests in four bedrooms, offering flexible sleeping arrangements. The main level has a queen bedroom with a Smart TV and a bunk room with four twin beds and a Smart TV. There is a shared full bathroom on this level. Downstairs is an additional queen bedroom with a Smart TV and a bunk room with full-over-full bunk beds. The kids will enjoy the Pac-Man arcade game in the lower-level bunk room. These two bedrooms share a second full bathroom on this level.
Additional amenities include WiFi, a washer and dryer, mini-splits in the living areas and two queen bedrooms. The bunk rooms do not have mini-splits but do have space heaters for winter comfort. Access is via a gravel driveway and parking area. There are three steps leading from the parking area to the main deck. Pets are not allowed at this property. Winter guests should prepare with AWD or 4WD and snow chains.
