To camp, an age-old tradition in the Appalachian Mountains, is to put daily life on hold to connect with nature and relax, whether at a cottage, bungalow, cabin, or a tent. Celebrate the joy of spending time at Upta Camp, a beautiful location featuring a well-designed roundhouse on Beech Mountain.
Upta Camp is just 8 minutes from Beech Mountain Ski Resort, offering easy access to skiing, ice skating, and snowboarding in the winter, as well as a popular mountain biking destination in the summer. An 11-minute walk from the cabin leads to the Wild Iris Trailhead, a 2.2-mile looping trail that passes through rhododendrons and wildflowers. Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain are under 30 minutes by car, providing access to many fun High Country adventures, including shops, dining, wineries, and the popular Wilderness Run pine coaster. Grandfather Mountain State Park, Boone, and Blowing Rock are all within an hour of this peaceful retreat.
Upta Camp features two bedrooms, a quaint modern decor, and thoughtful design to provide space and functionality for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen is well-stocked and opens to the living room, boasting a gas log fireplace and a mounted TV. Outside, the spacious deck provides outdoor dining, a gas grill, Adirondack chairs for sipping drinks while taking in the wooded setting, and a wood-burning fire pit. Guests traveling with young ones will find a high chair and a pack-and-play provided for their convenience.
Upta Camp features central air, a washer and dryer, and high-speed internet. Two pets are welcome with your reservation, and additional pet fees apply. Winter travelers should prepare for inclement weather by using AWD or 4WD vehicles and having tire chains.
