Welcome to Blue Mountain!
Blue Mountain is a charming cabin located just beyond the bustling town of Boone. It offers a perfect escape for those seeking both relaxation and adventure. The cabin’s proximity to Brookshire Park and Booneshine Brewing Co. makes it an ideal retreat. Brookshire Park features a paved trail, a large field, and a covered picnic area, while Booneshine Brewing Co. is a local brewery and restaurant with outdoor dining areas perfect for kids and pets. Pine Run River access and Rocky Knob Mountain Bike Park are also just fifteen minutes away from the cabin. Downtown Boone, home to Appalachian State University, is a twenty-minute drive away and offers a variety of local shops and restaurants. If you want to take a boat out on the lake, Kerr Scott Lake in Wilkesboro is a twenty-five-minute drive away.
The cabin is a cozy log home with custom wood details, including exposed log walls, hardwood floors, and tongue-and-groove ceilings. It has three levels and ample space and amenities for a memorable retreat. There are two separate living areas for relaxation, two kitchens, and a game room for lively entertainment. The main level features a spacious family room with comfortable furniture around the TV and a rock fireplace with gas logs. Guests can warm up by the fire after a hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway or play their favorite games. A second sitting area is perfect for conversation or reading a book. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and a large island (there is no dishwasher). Downstairs access is from an exterior door. There is a second living area, a kitchen, and a game room with a shuffleboard table, a foosball table, and a multi-game arcade game. The true gem of Blue Mountain is the large wraparound covered porch, where guests can relax in rocking chairs and marvel at the long-range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Guests can make new memories with family and friends while sipping their morning coffee on the porch or roasting marshmallows around the fire pit while sharing campfire stories.
The cabin can accommodate ten guests. There are two bedrooms on the top floor. Four guests can sleep in one bedroom with two queen beds, while the second has one queen bed. There is a full bathroom with a step-in shower on the top floor. The loft has a full-size futon for an extra sleeping spot and a desk for remote work. The lower level has an additional sleeping nook with a queen bed. This sleeping area is open to the lower-level family room. The family room sofa converts into a full-size bed. There is also a full bathroom on the lower level.
The cabin has a mini-split in the stairwell to the loft that heats and cools the main level and loft. There is a mini-split in the lower level kitchen to heat and cool the lower level family room and sleeping area. The loft and lower level living area have gas wall heaters. Other amenities include Wi-Fi and Superbox Internet TV, which provide access to network TV, sports channels, and movies. Blue Mountain is dog-friendly with an additional pet fee. This home does not have a washer and dryer.
Please be advised that there are two exterior security cameras in place. Access to the cabin is via a gravel driveway that can hold up to four vehicles. We highly recommend AWD or 4WD for winter travelers. There is some road noise due to the proximity to Highway 421.
