Villa Zoni is probably one of the largest and most welcoming villas with private pool in Rethymnon Crete. Surrounded by extensive private gardens with unspoilt nature, provided with a large private pool (with separate section for children), offering beautiful views to the mountains and the sea and located near the historic village of Kalonyktis, Villa Zoni is set to impress. The accommodation consists of 5 semidetached apartments built in front of the large private pool, for a total of 10 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms and capacity for up to 20/25 guests. The bedrooms are fully air-conditioned. The 5 houses forming Villa Zone rented as a whole independent villa with 10 bedrooms in total and common facilities for up to 20/24 guests together: this allows the guests to benefit for the private, exclusive use of the swimming pool and all the premises, yet having privacy when required or at night.
Come to the green Kaloniktis, only 10 minutes from the city of Rethymnon. According to the tradition, the village, and indirectly also the Municipality of Nikiforos Phokas where it belongs, owes their name to the following incident: when Nikiphoros Phokas expedited in Crete on March 961 AD in order to free it from the Arabs Saracens, he camped for one night on the above hill, which he had previously freed, after a battle. When the dawn came, someone asked him: “How did you spend your night?” And he said, “Good night!” So the village was named “Kaloniktis”, which means good night, and the hill and the location, where the Byzantine general and later Emperor was camping, was called “Nikiforos”. Nikiforos Fokas is considered the founder of the village and there is a road to the village in his honor.
The access is done through Atsipopoulo’s junction, outside of Rethymno. While crossing many traditional Venetian villages, such as Gonia, Ag. Andreas, Prines, you reach the village of Kaloniktis. Villa Zoni residential complex consists of five independent and fully-equipped residences. A suite which name comes from the goddess Hera, the wife of Zeus, and four apartments, that their names come from the word night- another name for it in the Greek language is “espera” synonym to the name of the village “ Kaloniktis” (good night), and their names are Aegle, Arethusa, Eritrea And Focus.
The complex has specially designed outdoors, such as lawn garden, large pool with massage, children’s pool, playground, and parking. Additionally there is a barbecue covered with traditional banquets, wood oven, grill, and parasol.
