The Gumbaynggirr people have long welcomed the Gurruja’s - Whales, through the homelands of Scott’s Head from June through to November each year. Witness these majestic creatures right from your doorstep as they migrate up to warmer waters and make their journey back to the Antarctic. Famous for its right-handed surf breaks, Scott’s head is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, approximately 10 kilometres from the Pacific Highway and 480 kilometres from Sydney, it stretches southwards from the mouth of the Nambucca River to the laid-back town of Scott’s Head.
Gurruja Retreat sleeps up to 2 guests comfortably and is the entire ground floor of a two storey townhouse. Just a five minute walk from the Surf Club, Little Beach and the gateway to Gaagal Wanggaan - South Beach, National Park, which sweeps in a long 11km arc from the Nambucca river mouth to Scotts Head.

The Cinema Room: Purpose-built by the previous owner and musical muse, this private studio was once used to create incredible soundtracks for the film industry. Please note that there are no laundry facilities at Gurruja Retreat, however we do offer a laundry service for you for 40 per laundry bag during your stay.
There is plenty to enjoy and explore in this culturally significant coastal town. Or you may wish to simply wind down, disconnect and get back to nature. You will fall in love with this peaceful abode. No parties, No pets, No smoking. Please note that the upstairs floor cannot be booked in conjunction with your stay, so you will be guaranteed the property to yourself. No garage but plenty of street parking on a quiet street. Linen and bath towels provided, feel free to bring your own beach towels. Please refer to our terms and conditions prior to booking.
