At "Al Mare" you will enjoy the spectacular views of the ocean from this home which is steps from the beach. Sit on the sofa or upper or lower open decks and watch the dolphins in the water The sunsets are gorgeous!
Al Mare is ideal and comfortable for small families or two couples, girl’s weekend away or men’s golf trips. This home has two suites; one with a king bed, en-suite bathroom with oversized shower; The second bedroom has two full beds and full bath. Comfortable living room with a sleeper sofa, dining room and kitchen all flow to an upper deck overlooking the ocean. Great porches - front and back give you wonderful outdoor living space.
The open floor plan in the Kitchen/Dining/Living allows everyone to socialize in the fully stocked kitchen with open access to the deck overlooking the ocean. Sunset views in the evening are amazing. Al Mare is in the desirable Flora’s Bluff - a prime location on Bald Head Island. steps to a beach access for the cottages. Very close to everything - the BHI club, restaurants, shops and the marina Head Island Club. The home is also well situated with a large open area in front for the children to play at the end of the cul-de-sac and a small fenced yard for pets and to enjoy a gathering around the BBQ.
A very short cart ride in the newer 4 seat cart gets you to the new BHI Club Aquatic Center which features 4 new tennis courts, a playground, short-grass recreational area, workout facility, multiple swimming pools and water slide, croquet course, casual and fine dining and, of course, the George Cobb designed, award winning 18-hole golf course.
Bald Head Island is only accessible by boat or by a ferry, which departs frequently out of Southport, NC. Southport is 40 minutes from the Wilmington, NC (ILM) airport. A tram ride to the villa is included with your ferry ticket. Reservations are required. Visitors and residents travel around the island by golf cart, bike or by foot.
This house comes with a 4-seat golf cart, 2 adult beach bikes, 4 new beach chairs, boogie boards and an abundance of beach toys, and an umbrella. Please bring your own helmets. Additional bikes can also be rented at Riverside Adventure. Please note that while we guarantee the availability and condition of the golf carts, we cannot guarantee the condition of the bikes.
Climb to the top of “Old Baldy,” which is the oldest lighthouse on the East coast. It was built in 1817 and originally commissioned by Thomas Jefferson. Hike and wind your way around live oaks hundreds of years old and through the nature paths that Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers used in the ancient Maritime Forest. An upscale grocery market, spa, and shopping area is a short golf cart ride away. Discover the Bald Head Island Conservancy at the end of South Beach, where you can learn about the island’s wildlife.
