But still, while being in the forest, just few meters away are the best beaches of Kefalonia. It is situated in the small village of Sarlata, very close to Lakithra and Svoronata villages.
The red roof tops and traditional Ionian colours of the houses of Sarlata are surrounded by greenery, mainly olive groves interspersed by tall cypress trees that stretch all the way down to the coastline. A couple of restaurants and mini markets in Lakithra and Svoronata are less than a 5 minute drive, and the beaches of Avithos, Ai Helis and Ammes are also not more than 8-10 minutes drive away.
The interiors of the one storey villa are stylish and impressive, with a main living, dining and kitchen area open plan design, boasting patio doors opening onto the swimming pool terrace with stylish outdoor furniture.
The king size bedroom also open out onto the terrace . The quality of the decor is second to none, boasting neutral shades of beige, grey and white and a charming minimalism that creates a calm, peaceful ambience. The shower room has a great quality with black chrome and glass. The swimming pool and terrace have lawn chairs to relax among the trees. The swimming pool also benefits from the use of eco – non chlorine products.
The Capital of the island; Argostoli, is a 15 minute drive and well worth a visit, with an elegant main square and lots of shops, tavernas, cafes and bars to explore and a great outdoor vegetable, fruit market on the harbourfront, it is a great place for people “watchi”.

About the area
Cephalonia, the largest of the Ionian Islands in Greece, is a captivating destination that offers a blend of stunning natural beauty, rich history, and charming local culture. Known for its dramatic landscapes, the island boasts mountainous terrain, lush forests, and some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
One of the island's most famous beaches is Myrtos, renowned for its dazzling white pebbles and turquoise waters, set against a backdrop of steep cliffs. It's a perfect spot for sunbathing, swimming, and capturing breathtaking photographs. Similarly, Antisamos Beach, featured in the film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin," offers a picturesque setting with its crystal-clear waters and surrounding green hills.
Cephalonia is also home to the enchanting Melissani Cave, where visitors can take a boat ride on an underground lake that is illuminated by a natural skylight, creating a magical atmosphere. The nearby Drogarati Cave, with its impressive stalactites and stalagmites, is another geological marvel not to be missed.
The island's rich history is evident in its various archaeological sites and historic landmarks. The Castle of Saint George, perched atop a hill near the village of Peratata, provides panoramic views of the island and a glimpse into its Venetian past. The Archaeological Museum in the capital, Argostoli, offers insights into Cephalonia's ancient history, showcasing artifacts from the Mycenaean, Hellenistic, and Roman periods.
Cephalonia's villages are full of character and charm, with Assos being one of the most picturesque. This small village is built on a peninsula and features colorful houses, a Venetian fortress, and tranquil harbors. Fiscardo, another beautiful village, retains its traditional Ionian architecture and is a hub for yachting, with a vibrant waterfront lined with cafes and restaurants.
The island's culinary offerings are a delight, with local tavernas serving fresh seafood, traditional Greek dishes, and the famous Robola wine, which is produced in Cephalonia's own vineyards. The island's olive oil and honey are also highly prized for their quality and flavor.
For those who love adventure, Cephalonia provides ample opportunities for hiking, with Mount Ainos, the highest peak in the Ionian Islands, offering challenging trails and the chance to encounter the unique Kefalonian fir tree. Water sports enthusiasts can enjoy snorkeling, diving, and kayaking in the island's clear waters.
In essence, Cephalonia is a destination that offers something for everyone, from breathtaking natural wonders and historical treasures to delightful culinary experiences and warm Greek hospitality. It's a place where the beauty of the Ionian Sea meets the charm of traditional Greek island life.
