Chalet Amelie is a large property decorated in a traditional style. Situated just a 5 minute drive from Chamonix centre in the residential area of Les Bois, this chalet is a stone’s throws from the golf course, a minute’s drive from the Flegere cable car and a 10-15 minute walk from the village of Les Praz. Relaxation is covered with an indoor sauna and outdoor hot tub in the garden. The large terrace is ideal for alfresco dining, enjoying a morning coffee or just relaxing whilst taking in the fantastic mountain views.

The chalet sleeps up to 14-17 people in 8 bedrooms. There is a maximum of 15 separate beds available, configured as follows:

Bedroom 3 : Flexible, two single beds or double bed (first floor) with ensuite shower room with WC

OUR OPINION
Chalet Amelie is our largest Mountain Base chalet making it particularly popular with large families and corporate groups. Its rustic decor and impressive stone fireplace create a tranquil and family-friendly atmosphere.
The chalet can sleep up to 17 people however, please note that the dining table seats a maximum of 14 people. Guests appreciate having both the TV room and office in addition to the open-plan living area.
As for the location, it is a short drive from several of the local ski areas and just 200 metres from the bus stop so you can easily access local amenities if you don’t wish to drive.

About the area
Chamonix, France, is a picturesque destination nestled in the French Alps, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and European charm. It's often referred to as the "Gateway to the European Cascades," making it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. The region is home to towering peaks such as Mont Blanc - Western Europe's highest mountain - which serves as a stunning backdrop for various activities like hiking, climbing, paragliding and mountain biking in summer and skiing or snowboarding in winter.
The town itself is charming with its traditional Savoyard architecture. Its lively streets are filled with quaint cafes and restaurants that serve delectable French cuisine and local delicacies like raclette and fondue. Numerous boutiques can be found here too, selling everything from high-end fashion to artisanal crafts.
For those interested in history and culture, Chamonix has plenty to offer. The Alpine Museum provides intriguing insights into the region's mountaineering history while the Priory showcases artifacts from Chamonix's past. There are also several historic sites worth exploring such as the Baroque-style Church of St Michel.
Chamonix is also known for its wellness facilities. After a day of outdoor activities, visitors can relax at one of many spas or wellness centers that offer massages and treatments using mountain minerals.
No trip to Chamonix would be complete without experiencing its cable cars. The Aiguille du Midi cable car ascends over 3,800 meters providing breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and surrounding peaks. Similarly, the Montenvers railway takes visitors up to see the Mer de Glace glacier.
