Nestled on the gentle Macerata hills, Villa Serena is a wonderful rustic farmhouse with a private pool with a well-rounded view of the charming Marche countryside.
Purchased in 1999 by the current owners, the entire structure was subjected to a long and laborious recovery work that was personally supervised by Mr. Giuliano, who dedicated all his knowledge and skill to the imposing work, and to the lady Gina, who with passion and professionalism follows not only the care of the interior but also that of the large outdoor garden. Since 2010 Villa Serena welcomes tourists and visitors, especially foreigners who come here from all over the world to seek peace and tranquility.
The six rooms of the Villa, which can comfortably accommodate up to 18 people, are spacious and bright and are equipped with private bathrooms and all other comforts. The entire structure is made of exposed brick and stone, with details and finishes in wood and wrought iron. In the outdoor areas, there are several relaxation areas, a barbecue area with an adjoining wood-burning oven, and a play area for children. Also outside, reachable through a refined staircase, there is a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by a patio for sunbathing. All around are ancient olive trees and other ornamental trees.
The incoming is personally managed by the owners who offer their availability to make the shopping service at home but also to organize short trips and excursions.
In the area, there are excellent restaurants, with high-quality local cuisine, and it is also possible to taste wines or take guided tours at a prestigious wine cellar in the area.
Thanks to the external wood-burning oven, pizza-making lessons with dinner including pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven are also held upon guests’ request.
Just 10 minutes by car you can reach the wonderful Abbadia di Fiastra Nature Reserve, open all year round and is the ideal place for excursions, horse riding, and bird watching.
The town of Macerata is 20 minutes away by car. The owners of Villa Serena also offer the possibility of buying tickets in advance of the Sferisterio Opera Season
During the month of August, in the nearby town of San Ginesio, you can experience the historical re-enactment of the Palio and the Medievalia week.
From here it is easy to reach Ascoli Piceno, Loreto, Recanati, and other charming medieval towns of the Marche.

About the area
Marcelli, a charming coastal town in the Marche region of Italy, is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of more crowded tourist destinations. With its picturesque beaches along the Adriatic Sea, Marcelli is a haven for those seeking sun, sea, and sand. The town's long stretches of sandy shores are perfect for sunbathing, while the clear blue waters invite swimming, sailing, and windsurfing.
The town's promenade is lined with a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants, where visitors can indulge in delicious local cuisine, including fresh seafood and the region's famous white wines, such as Verdicchio. The evening passeggiata (leisurely walk) along this promenade is a beloved ritual that offers a glimpse into the relaxed Italian lifestyle.
Marcelli is also an excellent base for exploring the natural beauty and historical sites of the Marche region. The nearby Conero Regional Park is a natural paradise, offering hiking trails through lush forests and to dramatic cliff-top views over the sea. The park is home to diverse flora and fauna, as well as secluded beaches that can be reached by foot or by boat.
For those interested in history and culture, the medieval hilltop town of Loreto is just a short drive away. Loreto is famous for its Basilica della Santa Casa, a shrine that is said to contain the house in which the Virgin Mary lived. The basilica's stunning architecture and art are a draw for pilgrims and art enthusiasts alike.
Another nearby attraction is the city of Ancona, the capital of the Marche region. Ancona's rich history is evident in its ancient Roman ruins, such as the Arch of Trajan, and its Renaissance cathedrals. The city's port also offers the opportunity for day trips to other Adriatic destinations.
Marcelli's blend of beautiful beaches, cultural experiences, and proximity to natural and historical sites makes it an ideal destination for travelers looking for a more authentic and tranquil Italian vacation. Whether you're lounging on the beach, savoring the local gastronomy, or exploring the surrounding region, Marcelli provides a delightful Italian experience that caters to a variety of tastes and interests.
