The 2000m² of enclosed grounds are glorious and designed for long, leisurely days making the most of the Saint-Rémy sunshine.
Inside Maison Serengeti, the interiors are smart and stylish with attractive furnishings, bold artwork and objets d’art from the owners’ travels. There are four cosy and comfortable double bedrooms, two with air-conditioning upstairs, whilst the contemporary bathrooms feature walk-in Italian showers. Overall, it’s a fine holiday home for a family or small group of friends wishing to make the most of the beautiful surroundings and close proximity of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
Explore the heart of the historic town, whether you wish to experience the atmospheric Wednesday morning market, enjoy lunch on a café terrace or dine out in a traditional French bistro in the evening. Come across little art galleries and follow the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh who created many of masterpieces during his time at Saint-Paul de Mausole monastery towards the end of his life.
Elsewhere across Les Alpilles, visit picture-perfect villages such as Eygalières, Maussane-les-Alpilles and Les Baux-de-Provence, classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, then venture a little further afield to Van Gogh’s beloved Arles, famed for its artistic vibe and Roman heritage.

In the Bouches-du-Rhône department of Provence, 23km south of Avignon, Maison Serengeti is located in a residential area around 1.6km south-east of the heart of historic Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
In the historic quarter, you will find yourself surrounded by charming café terraces, upmarket restaurants, art galleries and inviting shops – a visit on a Wednesday morning is a must for the town’s vibrant market, a superb way to pick up seasonal produce from the region as well as artisan crafts and lots of lavender products. Look out for exhibitions taking place at Musée Estrine and follow the town’s Van Gogh trail ending at Saint-Paul de Mausole monastery where the great artist spent the end of his life.
As you explore Le Parc naturel régional des Alpilles, come across idyllic hilltop villages such as Eygalières (11km) and Les Baux-de-Provence (11km), one of France’s classified ‘Plus Beaux Villages’, and enjoy lunch in a picturesque café in Maussane-les-Alpilles (13km), known for its olive oil produced from the many groves surrounding the atmospheric village. There are ample walking and cycling opportunities whilst wine-lovers will have the chance to sample the wines of Saint-Rémy. Beyond Les Alpilles, visit the vineyards of the Luberon and the Rhône valley just north of Avignon - Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a 45-minute drive away.
Avignon itself is a fantastic day out, home to wonderful markets, wine-bars, restaurants and two UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Palais des Papes and Pont d’Avignon, whilst Nîmes (47km) will also appeal to history lovers with its fascinating Roman heritage and some of the best preserved Roman sites in France.
A little further afield, soak up the ambience of the Sunday morning brocante in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (32km) and hire canoes or kayaks to experience the beauty of the Sorgue River from Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (36km), a much-loved village also known for its brilliant hiking routes nearby.
