Nido, Kangaroo Valley - 4pm check out Sundays and Public Holidays, except Summer Season
Named after the Spanish word for ’Bird’s Nest’ the inspiration for Nido came from an old tin shed tucked away in the property. It has been lovingly restored by the owner to offer all of life’s comforts yet retain a real country feel.
Please note:
- Strictly no parties at this property - please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken
- Hide and seek, the main house on the property, sleeps 6 guests. You can book both properties as Hide and Seek Estate, sleeping 8 in total
- If you have not booked Hide and Seek for your dates, it may be occupied by other guests during your stay
- Nido does not have a television
Where will I be?
Nido is located in the Upper Kangaroo River area of Kangaroo Valley, in a beautiful secluded location. The house overlooks the stunning, rugged escarpments of Kangaroo Valley and it is only 10 minutes drive to the centre of the village and close to several wedding venues.

How is the property laid out?
The 2 storey home has a lounge, kitchenette and bathroom with a large shower on the ground floor and a sleeping loft above with a very comfortable king bed.
WiFi, Internet, Netflix, or Pay TV - will I have it?
Complimentary WiFi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email.
Please note that neither Property Manager nor the owner can guarantee 100% that WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If Wi-Fi is important, please therefore always have a back up plan.
What about outdoors?
Nido has a covered outdoor area with seating, a BBQ and views over the stunning escarpment. Please note the pool and the hot tub on the property are for the exclusive use of Hide and Seek guests.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
There is air conditioning to keep you cool in the summer and a fireplace in the living area to keep you warm in the winter.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Nido supplies all bed linen, sheets and bath towels.
Parking for cars, etc?
Accessed by its own entry and gate, Nido is located to the rear of Hide and Seek, another beautifully restored country home. There is space for 1 car on the gravel by the house.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Yes! Dogs are welcome to stay at Hide and Seek subject to the following:
- Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house
- Absolutely no dogs on the furniture, rugs, or in the bedrooms
- Please bring a dog bed and and food bowls
- Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately
Wildlife
Please note that due to the nature and location of this property, wildlife may be about including possums, kangaroos, ants, spiders, bees, wasps and even snakes. We do whatever we can to keep the property safe, however we cannot guarantee that you will not see any wildlife at the property. You must book the property knowing that the possibility of encountering wildlife exists, and you must take care during your visit if walking around the property - please.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.
