Tulum is a town on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It is one of the last cities inhabited by the Mayan people and was once an important trading hub, generating enormous wealth exporting jade and obsidian. Now, it is a fascinating city-museum, with well preserved temples and stunning coastal views. Tulum is home to great beaches, lush jungles, Mayan ruins, gorgeous lagoons, and an upscale nightlife. NEARBY ATTRACTIONS Playa Paraiso - one of Mexico’s best beaches. Laguna de Kaan Luum - This magical lagoon is special because of the color of its water, which alternates from a deep blue at the center to a turquoise green at the edges. The center is a deep cenote, which is estimated to be about 80 meters deep. Gran Cenote - this sinkhole is located just a few kilometers away from Tulum, on the way to Coba. It consists of several cenotes winding along the verdant jungle floor, connected by wooden walkways. Sian Ka’an Biosphere - home to thousands of species of beautiful plants and animals.
