Where you have the opportunity to encounter Aussie wildlife such as emus, kangaroos, koalas, blue wrens, and more. Our local recommendations: - Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape and home to some of Australia’s best-loved wildlife. - Deep Blue Hot Springs has mineral-rich waters that allow you the opportunity to bathe in geothermal hot springs for moments of rest and rejuvenation. - Port Fairy is much like Warrnambool with activities like surfing, folk music festivals, and more. It’s another town worth dropping by if you’re driving along the Great Ocean Road. - Flagstaff Hill or Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village overlooks Lady Bay and is considered a state heritage. It features a museum, historical shipwrecks, and the life of a 19th-century port and town. - Hopkins Falls is a popular attraction known for its picturesque views from the viewing platform or at the foot of the falls. They make an ideal picnic, fishing, and walking spot, with gas BBQs and toilets provided. - At Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform, almost every year between June and September, female Southern Right whales return to the waters of Warrnambool’s Logans Beach to calve. Watch from the shores as these massive creatures frolic in the water and enjoy the warmth of the coastal waters.
