Freighter View is a great place to stay for families, couples, a friends get-away or quiet time alone! You will enjoy fantastic views of Lake Huron, Bois Blanc Island and freighters passing by from the cozy living, dining, and kitchen area of this newly remodeled cottage; it has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, high speed internet and air conditioning if needed. There are a few books to enjoy in the living room, the second floor has many games and puzzles to have fun with as well as a table for those who need space to do some work while away from home. The beautiful sandy/rocky beach is just steps away from the cottage where you can sunbathe, swim (water shoes are nice to have when swimming here), take peaceful strolls or go rock hunting. During the peak of summer there are amazing sunrises over the lake in the morning and sunsets in the evening with Mackinac Bridge in the background!!! Located in Cordwood Point Association, you are only 15 minutes from the town of Cheboygan and less than a half hour from Mackinaw City, there are many things to do in the area. Go hiking on trails at Cheboygan State park just down the road, bring a picnic and play in the Lower Peninsula’s largest waterfall, Ocqueoc Falls, head to Quarry View in Rogers City to see the world’s largest limestone quarry, in St. Ignace you can climb the stairs to the top of Castle Rock then take your picture with Paul Bunyan and Babe his blue ox or visit the many Lighthouses in the area. Go toward Mackinaw City and catch the Jack Pine Lumberjack Shows, spend some time at Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park, take a trip in the evening to the Headlands International Dark Sky Park. Spend the day shopping in downtown Cheboygan, Mackinaw City or St. Ignace while also checking out some of the many excellent restaurants. Bring your kayaks and paddle boards to explore the coastline, bring bikes to travel the Lake Huron shoreline on the Huron Sunrise Trail, an 11 mile bike path from 40 Mile Point Lighthouse to South Shore Park in Rogers City with many stops in between, the roads in the association are also great for bike riding or taking walks. Check out the four parks in the association also. Spring, Summer or Fall, it’s always beautiful!!!

Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.
