The outdoor space, with a private pool and sun loungers, provides an inviting haven for relaxation or informal entertaining.
Just a short amble away lies the heart of Begur, a town full of character with its narrow streets and varied restaurants. The house’s prime location offers convenient access to numerous outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, and water sports.
Home truths:
- We don’t have a front desk at this location. However, the property features a keybox for access, and we’ll send you the codes via email and text message the day of your arrival. Rest assured, our on-site staff are available to assist you if needed.
- The outside staircase leading to the front door is quite long, which can be inconvenient for small children and the elderly.
- Air conditioning is only available in the bedrooms, but the double exposure of the house greatly reduces the heat.
- There is no sidewalk on the road to get to the town, nor street lights, at night. That being said, Begur is 500 meters away, and it takes 2 minutes by car to go there. There are several car parks around.
- Due to limited rainfall on the Costa Brava in recent months, occasional water usage restrictions may be implemented across the region. As a result, you might notice some differences in the garden compared to the photos, and the pool water level may vary slightly due to evaporation.
- Regrettably, due to the ongoing drought conditions on the Costa Brava, barbecue activities are prohibited this summer.

About the area
Begur, Spain, is a picturesque town that offers a delightful blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. Nestled in the heart of the Costa Brava, this charming destination is known for its medieval castle, which stands as a sentinel overlooking the town and the Mediterranean Sea. The castle ruins provide a glimpse into the past and offer panoramic views that are especially breathtaking at sunset.
The town itself is a labyrinth of narrow, winding streets lined with beautifully preserved houses that date back to the 16th century. Many of these historic buildings reflect the influence of the Cuban colonial style, a legacy of the town's emigrants who returned from the Caribbean island in the 19th century. This unique architectural blend gives Begur a distinctive character that sets it apart from other coastal towns.
Begur's beaches are among the most stunning in Catalonia, with crystal-clear waters and secluded coves that are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Aiguablava, Sa Riera, and Sa Tuna are just a few of the idyllic beaches that visitors can enjoy, each with its own charm and surrounded by rugged cliffs and pine-covered hills.
The town is also a haven for food enthusiasts, offering a variety of restaurants that serve traditional Catalan cuisine, fresh seafood, and international dishes. The local markets are a treasure trove of regional products, including wines, olive oils, and cheeses, which reflect the rich gastronomic heritage of the area.
For those interested in cultural activities, Begur hosts several festivals throughout the year, including the Fira d'Indians in September, which celebrates the town's historical links with Cuba through music, dance, and other cultural events.
Outdoor activities abound in and around Begur. Hiking trails crisscross the surrounding landscape, leading adventurers through the lush forests and along the rugged coastline. The town is also a short drive from several renowned golf courses, offering a challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
In essence, Begur is a destination that captivates with its medieval charm, stunning beaches, and rich cultural tapestry. It's a place where history and modernity coexist harmoniously, providing a serene yet vibrant atmosphere that appeals to travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. Whether you're exploring the historic town center, lounging on a sun-kissed beach, or indulging in the local cuisine, Begur promises an enchanting and memorable escape on the Costa Brava.
