About the area
Explore an authentic village where life is good, boasting local shops such as a butcher, bakery, café, and restaurant, creating a delightful and less touristy atmosphere compared to its neighbor, Gordes, yet equally valuable. Stroll through narrow streets adorned with dry stones and discover the ancient plague wall, built in 1720 to protect the Comtat Venaissin from the spread of the epidemic. A section of the wall between Lagnes and Cabrières d'Avignon remains, offering a scenic walk through landscapes of dry stones, garrigue, and cedar trees.
Venture into other Luberon villages that will enchant you with their timeless charm, inviting you to immerse yourself in history and savor the Provençal way of life. Gordes, Lourmarin, and Ménerbes, the jewels of the Luberon, are among the most beautiful villages in France. Traverse winding streets where the charm of stone facades harmoniously blends with flower-filled gardens. Marvel at bourgeois houses within the heart of the villages and the scattered mas and bastides throughout the surrounding countryside. With each visit, discover new architectural treasures, from windows with vertical blinds to ancient portals steeped in history. This is a unique region steeped in history, where each Luberon village is an integral part of the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, preserving its historic core and distinctive architecture.
