Red House Farm is an impressive sprawling old farmhouse hidden away in a quiet corner of the peaceful and ancient Suffolk Countryside.
Dating back 500 years in parts, this holiday home has been recently renovated to a superb standard which showcases the artistic and eclectic style of the owners. Red House Farm retains bags of character, with a terracotta tiled floor, an incredibly well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, with walk-in pantry, Aga and fireplaces with log burners.
You will be Ideally located to explore everything Suffolk has to offer, from the many attractions and outstanding beauty of the famous heritage coast to the historic streets of the local villages and towns. Red House Farm is within an easy drive from it all. If you are a keen food lover you will be thrilled to learn Suffolk’s best organic farm shop is an easy stroll from the front door with many great pubs and restaurants a short drive away.
The property also boasts the modern benefits of high speed fibre broadband (Ideal if you need to use the study to get some work done) and an EV charging point for electric or hybrid cars.
Culture lovers will love the famous Snape Maltings. This beautiful heritage site houses the world-famous concert venue as well as a wealth of independent shops, galleries and restaurants.
Kitchen/living/dining room
The front door you enter the house through opens into a hallway with plenty of space to hang coats and store your outside shoes. Walk through to the Kitchen, the heart of this home, a large, cosy and traditional farmhouse in style. Boasting a two-oven Aga, a huge butler sink, a walk-in pantry, a dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother, this kitchen is a delight to prepare and plan meals in. On the other side of the chimney breast that houses the Aga, the room opens out into a living area with a log burning stove, cosy chairs, sofas and a large coffee table, the perfect space for a morning tea, an evening cocktail or just to curl up and read a book. The dining room is situated in a modern extension off the kitchen and living area, it houses an enormous farmhouse table and two dressers stocked with crockery; the perfect place for a celebratory meal!
Utility Room
Enter through a sliding door off the dining room, the utility room is more of a second kitchen. A cupboard houses a washing machine and tumble drier, and under the worktop is a second dishwasher (ideal when catering for a house full!). The large fridge freezer is housed in this room, there is a double butler sink and storage for a food processor, cake tins, roasting tins etc… this is a house owned by and set up for keen cooks!
Drawing Room
The Drawing Room is situated off a grander entrance hall with a beautiful tiled floor and stairs that lead to the 1st floor bedrooms and bathrooms. A large and light room triple aspect room, retreat here to sink into the comfy chairs and sofa and relax in front of the traditional fireplace with a wood burner. The large smart TV is situated here (log into your own streaming accounts) or play one of the many board games or puzzles.
Study
The perfect quiet place for guests needing to get some work done, have a Zoom meeting or simply escape and read, this room is equipped with a large desk and shelves full of books.
Ground floor bedroom and en suite
With views of the back garden and the front lawns, this room can either be set up as a double with king size bed, or two small singles (make sure you let us know which configuration you would like in advance). The colourful rugs, panelled walls and walk clothes hanging space might make this room the cosiest in the house. The room also benefits from an en-suite open to the bedroom with a black and white tiled floor & shower cubicle, heated towel rail and large basin. The WC is in a separate room off the bedroom.
First floor
The staircase by the drawing room leads up to the first floor landing which stretches from the main bedroom on the left all the way to the other two bedrooms at the far end on the right. The centre of this landing overlooks the dining room from a galleried hallway with a wrought iron balustrade.
Main bedroom and ensuite
A King-size sleigh bed takes centre stage in this beautiful master bedroom. Decorated with leafy green wallpaper and ochre coloured curtains; furnished with bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a 1950s dressing table and a large woollen rug, this delightful room feels like a peaceful oasis.
Ensuite bathroom
Enormous and sumptuous this bathroom is pure luxury. The extra large double basin sits on top of an antique dresser base with a large well-lit mirror above it. Choose between a long soak in the clawfooted cast iron bath or the walk-in shower with a rainfall shower and handheld shower head. The room boasts underfloor heating and a heated towel rail.
Double bedroom
This room has a cottage feel, earthy tones and wooden panelling which together create a restful atmosphere, ideal for a good night’s sleep in the antique wooden king size bed. The room is furnished with bedside tables, dedicated reading lights, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. Unpack, relax and enjoy the view!
Single
At the end of the landing/hallway is a sweet room, with a single bed, chest of drawers and chair. The window overlooks the well-cared-for sedum roof, back garden and fields beyond. There is a single mattress under the bed if you need an extra bed but be warned this makes the room a very tight squeeze.
Family Bathroom
Next to the single bedroom, you’ll find our newly renovated family bathroom. With its modern walk-in shower, twin basins, heated towel rail and WC, it’s a fresh and bright space that adds a touch of luxury to your stay.
