A charming retreat, this home is located just south of Matanzas Inlet on the Summer Haven River, where one can fish and crab from the home’s dock. Or bring your boat or watercraft to explore the many rivers and creeks in the area. You will feel like you have stepped back into time and are enjoying the life of old Florida. The wildlife is abundant, and it is a regular occurrence to see baby sea turtles, manatees, egrets, and many species of fish from the dock and porches. The magnificent views and easy access to the waterways set this home apart from others in the area. And the proximity to some of St Augustine’s most beautiful, family-friendly beaches completes the outdoor experience. Be sure to take in mesmerizing views while visiting the Fort Matanzas National Monument, River to Sea Preserve, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The Atlantic Ocean is a five to 10-minute walk where you can spend the day surfing and looking for seashells. And Historic Downtown St Augustine is a short ride away. When you don’t want to go far from your stay, head outside and enjoy the Sunshine State’s weather in our home’s outdoor living spaces. The wraparound deck off the main living space comes with a bar, a dining table, and a comfy couch with chairs. The second outdoor living area is on the first floor and features a seating area, picnic table, and private grill. Once back indoors, the light-filled, newly renovated interior invites you in with open arms. Unwind on the oversized sofa as you stream your favorite shows on the large TV or show off your cooking skills on the kitchen’s quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances. Spend the day reading or lounging on the patios; the breeze is fantastic! The sunsets are unforgettable from the second-floor balcony. Restful sleep and sweet dreams will come naturally in the spacious bedrooms with luxurious linens and daily routines will be completed with ease in the sizable bathrooms, complete with walk-in showers and large vanities. We know you will enjoy this secret hideaway! Additional perks that this stay boasts include a floating dock for one boat up to 24’ in length, two kayaks, and beach gear. For our guests that bring a boat, there are boat ramps north at Devil’s Elbow or south at Bings Landing. The Summer Haven River is shallow, with some sections under two feet deep at low tides, and 5ft at the dock. Navigating the shallows of Matanzas Inlet and the Summer Haven River requires local knowledge, as navigational charts are not accurate for this ever-changing area. This is an ideal river for paddle sports as the current and boat traffic are minimal. We strive to keep this information as up-to-date as possible so you can feel confident in knowing what you are renting. We will send you all the necessary pre-arrival and check-in information after booking. This can include guest instructions, notices, and other helpful information. House Rules Check-in time: 4:00 PM Check-out time: 10:00 AM All guests shall abide by Property Manager’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. There is parking available for your boat trailer. No dog(s) are welcome in this home. No other animals are allowed without specific Property Manager approval. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles. Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximun occupancy and quiet hours.
