Upon entering this colorful & contemporary retreat, you’ll immediately be greeted by the quirky installations that include a bright red candy machine, abstract paintings, mannequin feet, pillows with animals dressed as gentlemen, and a wall decked out in ornate and mismatched mirrors. The interior color palette seamlessly ties baby blues, fresh whites, and bright oranges together, along with funky patterns and textures, to create a bright and inviting atmosphere that will instantly relax you and encourage fun. Outside, you’ll find an open-air deck that provides the perfect space to have your morning coffee or dinner al fresco while enjoying the beautiful views and calming sounds of Mill Creek and a hot tub that’s perfect for soaking after a full day of adventure and hiking. Reflections is just a 1-minute drive and 5-minute walk from the quaint town of Old Fort. Known as the Gateway to the Blue Ridge, Old Fort sits at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is surrounded by lush forests and a diverse wildlife community. Old Fort’s Native American and railroad history can be felt throughout town-including a hand-carved, 14-foot rose granite arrowhead on top of a 15-foot river rock with a concrete base featured in the middle of town. You can also find local-favorite Hillman Beer in the middle of downtown, with its savory burgers, gorgeous river views, and cold brews.
Within the mountains of Old Fort, you’ll find Pisgah National Forest with over 67,000 acres that include hemlock forests, cove forests, bogs, and fens. Andrew’s Geyser, Catawba Falls, and Point Lookout Trail are among some of the oldest and most celebrated outdoor attractions in Old Fort. Catawba Falls is a stunning 100-foot cascading waterfall, and Point Lookout Trail is a popular 4-mile paved trail that ascends almost 1,000 feet through the Swannanoa Gap. Take a short 15-minute drive to reach the neighboring towns of Black Mountain and Marion. Known as the Front Porch of Western North Carolina,? Black Mountain, boasts 3 local breweries (Lookout Brewing, Pisgah Brewing, and Black Mountain Brewing) along with novelty shops, art galleries, parks, and incredible restaurants like Foothills Butcher Bar, Louise’s Kitchen, and Black Mountain Bistro. Visit the other small town of Marion and spend your afternoon exploring the new 310 District, an indoor shopping space that’s home to Marion Wing Factory, Toonez Chop House, Marion Hot Wheelz indoor skating rink, Chances of Sprinkles Bakery, and several retail shops. Reflections is also just 25 minutes away from Asheville where you’ll find the iconic Biltmore Estate & Gardens. Take a 35-minute drive south to reach the village of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, where you can enjoy family-friendly fun that includes a swimming beach, water park, twilight dinner cruises, boat tours, and boat rentals (paddle and pontoon).
Please note: Reflections is NOT pet-friendly. The home is near the railroad track, and it is not uncommon to hear and see a train coming "around the bend" into town-an exciting prospect for train & railroad enthusiasts!
