Hide and Seek is a country property that offers you peace and calm the minute you drive through the front gates. The home dates back to 1918 and has been lovingly and expertly restored and modernised while maintaining its original charm. Outside, the inground swimming pool, a hot tub heated by a log fire and generous entertaining space all contribute to resort style experience.

- Strictly no parties at this property - please. You will be evicted if this rule is broken
- Nido, a special little barn at the rear of the house, sleeps 2 guests. You can book both properties as Hide and Seek Estate, sleeping 8 in total
- If you have not booked Nido for your dates, it may be occupied by other guests during your stay
Where will I be?
Hide and Seek is located in the Upper Kangaroo River area of Kangaroo Valley, in a beautiful secluded location. The house overlooks the stunning, rugged escarpments of Kangaroo Valley and it is only a 10 minute drive to the centre of the village and close to several wedding venues.

Voted as one of the best renovations in Home Design magazine, Hide and Seek retains original features such as the high ceilings and cornices, but offers all the modern amenities and luxury furnishings for a comfortable stay.
How is the property laid out?
Walk up the steps onto the front verandah and you will enter into the hallway. There are 2 bedrooms to the front of the home (one with a queen bed and one with a bunk bed) and the master bedroom with king bed and ensuite. The beautiful period shared bathroom has a freestanding combined bath/shower and a toilet. There is an open plan kitchen, living and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, oven, gas cooktop and a coffee machine that takes Nespresso pods. The living area opens onto the rear deck with fabulous wrap around bifolding doors.
WiFi, Internet, Netflix, or Pay TV - will I have it?
Complimentary WiFi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email.
Please note that neither Property Manager nor the owner can guarantee 100% that WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If WiFi is important, please therefore always have a back up plan.
What about outdoors?
The outside area is just stunning, with views to the green paddocks behind and the escarpment to the front. The inground swimming pool and the cedar, log fire heated hot tub are perfect for relaxing. An outside fire pit and under cover dining area, complete with a BBQ, are the ideal spots for your group to relax together.
Staying warm or keeping cool?
There is air conditioning to keep you cool in the summer and a fireplace in the living area to keep you warm in the winter.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Hide and Seek supplies all bed linen, sheets and bath towels.
Parking for cars, etc?
There is ample open air parking on the gravel in front of the house.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Yes! Dogs are welcome to stay at Hide and Seek subject to the following:
- Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house
- Absolutely no dogs on the furniture, rugs, or in the bedrooms
- Please bring a dog bed and and food bowls
- Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately
Wildlife
Please note that due to the nature and location of this property, wildlife may be about including possums, kangaroos, ants, spiders, bees, wasps and even snakes. We do whatever we can to keep the property safe, however we cannot guarantee that you will not see any wildlife at the property. You must book the property knowing that the possibility of encountering wildlife exists, and you must take care during your visit if walking around the property - please.
What are the minimum stay rules?
- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights
Are there any special Summer Season rules?
Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.
