Perched atop a grassy knoll, Big Hill Cabin provides the best of both worlds at this quiet rural location, yet only 12 minutes from the Boone city limits. The New River is less than 1.5 miles away, offering canoeing, kayaking, tubing outfitters, fishing, biking, and more. Elk Knob State Park, at 5520 feet in elevation, is a High Country favorite with hiking, camping, picnicking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing only 8 miles away. Blowing Rock and Valle Crucis are within a 25-minute drive, and Banner Elk is 40 minutes from the cabin. In a pinch, it is just 5 minutes to the nearest Dollar General from this private setting, where your closest neighbors are grazing cattle.

This classic log-style cabin has all the modern conveniences like quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, mini split A/C and heat, Swedish Blueair filtration on all levels, 2 large streaming Smart TVs, front loading washer and dryer and ping pong table in the lower level. The tall ceilings and large timber beams give a hint of rustic mountain charm to this cozy cabin. There is an expansive back deck for entertaining and eating with views of the surrounding mountains. The fire pit and picnic area are in the yard, a park-like setting with countless trees to hang your ENO-style Hammock or pitch a tent, and the unique, level 4.5 acre lot has a huge field for walking the dog, playing frisbee, or watching the kids run and play.
The entire upper level comprises the massive master bedroom with a king bed and a second living room. The seating area includes a 50-inch Smart TV with streaming and a queen-sized gel pullout sleeper sofa. This room includes a private upper balcony where you can relax, eat, or watch the wildlife in the surrounding trees. Additional guests will enjoy the main floor sofa, which converts to a queen-size sleeper with the glow of the wood-burning fireplace in view.

Big Hill Cabin sits atop a gentle knoll with convenient access off the paved neighborhood road. The covered front deck entrance has classic mountain rockers and a bench swing for fresh air and the view in any weather. There is plenty of parking space for three cars to park comfortably. Heat and A/C are provided with mini-split units. A dog is welcome with a reservation at Big Hill Cabin, and additional pet fees apply.
