The main level offers an open great room with wood floors and vaulted ceilings. The great room is highlighted by a wood-burning stone fireplace, leather furniture, and HD Smart TV. Adjacent to the great room is the kitchen and dining area. The dining table accommodates eight guests, with four more at the kitchen bar top with bar stool seating. A table with four chairs is in the loft for additional seating needs. The kitchen features stainless appliances and granite countertops and is well-outfitted with anything you need to prepare and serve meals to a packed house. The cozy covered rear porch is off the kitchen, with outdoor seating and a gas grill. The main entrance and great room lead to an extended open-air front deck with a large picnic table, two ’anti-gravity’ reclining chairs for relaxing, and a covered side deck for access to the driveway. There is a half bathroom and a laundry room with a washer and dryer on the main level.
The primary master suite on the main level features a comfy king-size bed, an HD Smart TV, an ensuite bathroom with a jetted tub and a separate tile and glass shower, and a walk-in closet for all your clothing storage needs. The master bedroom boasts a power-adjustable standing desk with an HD monitor and a comfortable office chair for guests to use for Remote/Hybrid working situations.
Upstairs offers two more bedrooms, a large loft area for additional sleeping spots, and a full bathroom with a tub and shower combo. The open loft has two game tables, comfy seating for reading, and a twin daybed with a twin trundle bed. The front queen bedroom has an HD Smart TV, another desk with an HD monitor, a comfortable office chair for Remote/Hybrid working situations, and a covered Juliette deck. The rear bedroom offers a queen bed and a twin-over-twin bunk bed. Vaulted cathedral ceilings add to the look and feel of the upper level.
With the two dedicated workspaces, the adjustable desk and monitor in the master suite, and the second workspace in the queen bedroom, remote/hybrid work and education are easy and fun at A-Typical. Other comforts such as high-speed Wi-Fi internet, digital cable TV programming, central heating and air conditioning, an outdoor fire pit feature, and more make this a well-rounded getaway for your family.
The property is tucked away off the road, is mostly level with mature hardwood trees, and features a wood-burning fire pit with comfy outdoor seating. This home has lovely, wooded views of the 1-acre property and surrounding open forest. One guest noted, "it feels like you’re living in a treehouse." Wintertime offers some pleasant views through the trees once the leaf season has claimed the foliage. For long-distance mountain views, walk up the driveway and around the neighborhood as this development sits at the top of a 4,000 ft mountain and has views in all directions of the compass. But for the most spectacular mountain views in the area, drive to one of the many Blue Ridge Parkway overlooks just a few minutes away. The owners’ favorites are Thunder Hill Overlook, 4 miles toward Blowing Rock, and Grandview Overlook, 7 miles north on the parkway. Both provide a perfect place for a sunrise coffee, a mid-day lunch stop, or a sunset picnic dinner.
This charming, peaceful destination has been well cared for and loved by attentive owners. It has many significant updates and upgrades, making it an ideal vacation destination.
