Welcome to Stone Mountain Lodge!
Stone Mountain Lodge sits at over 4,000 feet in elevation on a peaceful, private 7 acres, both wooded and cleared. This property boasts beautiful panoramic short and long-range layered mountaintop views, including Beech Mountain and Grandfather Mountain. On a clear day, you can see over fifty miles. Beech Mountain Ski Resort is a short, scenic 17-mile drive from the lodge, but you can take in the tranquil, illuminated sight of it each night from the back decks during ski season.
The main floor features hardwood floors and vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings. The open concept great room offers a comfy sectional sofa, a stone fireplace with gas logs, a 55-inch LED Smart HDTV, and a wall of windows framing the mountaintop panorama.
The kitchen has granite countertops, a custom travertine backsplash, stainless appliances, and a breakfast nook that enjoys the view. The formal dining room has a dining table that seats ten (10) guests. The generous main floor master suite has a king bed, a gas log fireplace, a 48-inch HDTV, a walk-in closet, and an ensuite bathroom equipped with a double-sink vanity, an oversized tiled shower, and a jetted jacuzzi-style tub. The main level also offers a laundry room with a washer and dryer and a half-bath/powder room.
Upstairs offers two queen suites, each with HDTVs and BluRay players, comfy futon sleeper sofas for relaxing and additional sleeping, walk-in closets, and ensuite bathrooms with jetted tubs. Both queen suites have vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings, hardwood floors with dormers, and windows with mountain views.
The owners have just completed an additional sleeping wing on the lower level, bringing the bedroom count to five (5), a new total of four and a half (4.5) bathrooms, and sleeping accommodations for up to fifteen (15) guests. The new lower-level wing features a king bedroom with an HD Smart TV and a bunk bedroom with a hand-hewn, twin-over-full log bunk bed. These two bedrooms have windows with views and share a full bathroom with a large soaking tub and shower with a tiled surround. This addition shares the attention to detail and level of quality befitting the rest of the lodge. We are excited to offer this to our future and returning guests! The 3D Virtual Tour does not include the new addition, so please see the photos to view this new space.
Downstairs is an open game room and movie room with an 8-foot slate pool table, an air hockey table, comfy reclining sofas, and an HD projector TV. All 5 HDTVs and the projector screen offer satellite TV programming, along with WiFi and Smart TV features. There is also a queen sleeper sofa downstairs for additional sleeping options.
All bedrooms and living areas have been recently re-decorated, including new lighting and modern, tasteful, mountain-chic wall and bedroom decor. The ridgetop view, improved by removing some trees and overgrowth, now includes Grandfather Mountain, Beech Mountain, and numerous other peaks previously hidden. These new panoramic views are a wonderful addition to Stone Mountain Lodge.
The covered rear deck stretches the entire width of the house. Just outside of the kitchen are a stainless gas grill and an outdoor dining table. On the other end of the main level deck site is the large hot tub. Comfortable and relaxing outdoor deck seating spans the rest of the deck, along with rocking chairs for that full mountain-life ambiance. The lower deck provides access to the backyard and the lower outdoor fire pit. There are two fire pits, one at the head of the driveway featuring a stone bench and fire bowl, the other in a clearing down below, about 25 yards from the house, offering Adirondack chairs and rustic stump seating. There is an attached garage, ample parking near the front door, in front of the garage, and around the lower side of the house. Six to seven vehicles can comfortably park here.
Stone Mountain Lodge is in the Bethel mountain community eighteen (18) miles from Boone and the same distance from Banner Elk. The NC/TN line and Cherokee National Forest are within walking distance from the lodge. Close to Johnson City, Mountain City, and Elizabethton, as well as Watauga Lake, Tweetsie Railroad, and Grandfather Mountain, all less than thirty (30) miles away. The Watauga River is close by and provides outdoor recreation opportunities like tubing, rafting, fishing, and hiking. For ski and snow enthusiasts, Beech Mountain Ski Resort is only seventeen (17) miles away and Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is twenty-six (26) miles away.
NOTE: This home has an outdoor camera for security purposes only. The camera is on the front porch, facing toward the yard and porch area.
