Its history dates back to the 1540s, with later 17th and 18th-century additions. Initially owned by William de Moion in the Domesday Book era, it now serves as the residence of the Earl of Sandwich. Renowned as Britain’s Finest Manor House, it is home to a significant collection of art and furniture reflecting the family’s pivotal role in British naval and political history. Recently renovated, it offers luxurious accommodation for guests. The 15-acre Italianate garden, dating back to the 1920s, boasts an array of enchanting features, from ornate topiary to tranquil ponds and even a wild swimming pool.

Payment & Cancellation - 30 Day Policy

Grace Period:

  • Guests may cancel for free provided that: (1) reservation is canceled within 48-hours of reservation confirmation, and (2) reservation was confirmed at least 11 days before scheduled arrival.

Payment Policy:

  • 30 days or less prior to arrival: Guests pay 100% at time of reservation.
  • More than 30 days before arrival: Guests pay 50% at time of reservation, the remaining 50% will be charged 30 days prior to arrival.
  • For guests paying with Points or Cash & Points: 100% of payment of both Cash & Points will be deducted at time of reservation, once booking is verified within 48 hours.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 30 days or less prior to arrival: No refund issued, unless ‘Grace Period’ applies.
  • More than 30 days before arrival: 100% refund.

  • We want you to have a fantastic stay, and we encourage you to see this property as a home away from home. There are, however, a few points we politely ask guests to note before their arrival and throughout their stay:
  • – Strictly no smoking, no parties, no pets.
  • – Dispose of rubbish appropriately.
  • – Keep the property clean and tidy.
  • – Whilst washing up and stripping the beds at check-out would be appreciated, it is by no means expected.
  • – Quiet hours are between 10 PM and 9 AM. So please keep the noise down and respect the neighbours in the building.
  • – Please remember to close all windows and doors when leaving.
  • – Careful attention to the keys is extremely important. Guests are responsible for any additional costs resulting from misplaced keys or locksmith call-outs.
  • – To ensure the safety of our current and future guests, we ask all guests to complete our online check-in form and to provide a valid form of identification.
