The Neighborhood
Soho was once a fashionable district for the aristocracy and is now known for is vibrant popular nightlife, having undergone significant gentrification in the late 20th century where it was known for its sex trade. Still a hub for the LGBTQ+ community and a short distance from Chinatown and popular landmarks such as Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus, some of the best bars, restaurants and entertainment spots are to be found here. Greek Street is known for its selection of restaurants and cafes, which include Barrafina, 100 Wardour Street, The Breakfast Club, The Hummingbird Bakery, Monmouth Coffee and L'Escargot. There are parks and open spaces in Golden Square and Soho Square and you have 40 venues in Theatreland on the doorstep and the Royal Opera House also within walking distance. If you want to buy a new guitar, there is no better place than the established shops of Denmark Street.
